New Casino Royale Tier System

Recommended Posts

So here's one I can't find the answer to. I'm prime now, and already booked my free cruise for next year. The thing is, it leaves on March 30th, 2019. So I'll have 2 days in the old term and 5 days in the new one. They weren't able to tell me which year the points I earn on that cruise count for. Any guesses? Leave it to me to book on the cusp.

If I had to make a guess it would be your total points at the end of the cruise. So it would be for the new term. The casino host gives out certificates based on that amount and that total is called into Casino Royale.

So there were two bar servers that served us in the Casino all week. One was a Euro looking dude with almost no hair, other was an Asian guy. We did tip them quite a bit. Also were you playing slots or table. They might not want to do it at Table games cause other people see it. Nobody's paying attention at slots.

Only played slots. The hairless dude served at the machines and said I'd have to pay for my drink. Also the one behind the bar said no. We tip very well with each and every drink.

Where is the list for the cruises? Is there a place online or do I need to call? I just found out I am prime, and want to book something in February (for my birthday).

Thanks

Barb

For the Prime free inside cabin cruise you can pick any cruise up to 8 nights, before March 31, 2019- no holidays. Find what you want and call Casino Royale.

TIP (especially for Prime members): Find a cruise with a high Inside rate and pay the difference to upgrade to a balcony. I am looking at some 7 and 8 nighters where the difference from my free inside to a balcony is just 100 or so bucks with my diamond balcony discount. Of course you pay taxes and port fees, but $375ish for a 7-8 night cruise in a balcony for 2 TOTAL is hard to beat!

So from what I understand there are actually 3 different kinds of free cruise offers and one can potentially get all 3 within a single year even if you're just prime (and obviously if you're higher tier than that). First is the Free cruise they give you for making it to Prime or higher. 1) You get 1 free cruise of your choice to any sailing from April 1st to March 31st of your eligible year, must be 8 nights or less and can't be on Thanksgiving, Christmas, or New Years week. 2) You can potentially get a free cruise voucher if you played enough and earned 2400 points or more in the casino during any specific sailing, they will give you a list of eligible cruises for this. 3)Prime members and above can be randomly chosen via Email offers for a free cruise from a list of eligible cruises. This list seems to be different from #2 I stated earlier.

You can't always go by the prices you see online. The casino has their own rates for cruises. Sometimes better - sometimes worse, but it's still a good deal when you want to upgrade to a balcony from an inside.

Your 2100 points from June and the new 400 point will qualify you for Prime status for April 1, 2019-March 31, 2020. If you had 2500 points on the June cruise, it would qualify you for free drinks on that cruise. You earn points the year before you are entitled to the perks for the following year.

Ok, so when I called the Casino number, they had indicated that benefits such as free drinks should begin once I reach 2500 on my upcoming cruise. It sounds like your response indicates that may not be the case now. It's not a show stopper, as we're already in a Star loft from our upgraded free cabin that we paid for a GS GTY, so we really are happy with the benefit we received. We don't have the drink package, and this would have been a great bonus. I will call again, and also speak to the casino host when I arrive. From reading this thread, when people made 1000 in the prior program rules, they were immediately given a VIP sticker, but I guess if I make 2500 now under the new rules, it won't take effect until the next program period?

Thanks again for responding!

The VIP sticker for 1000 points was given on the cruise you earned it, and for the next cruise you went on. It wasn't for all future cruises unless you earned 1000 points each cruise.

With the new tier program you have a year to get to 2500 points, and that entitles you to free drinks for the next program year for the full year. All points return to 0 on April 1st.

You also get free drinks if you earn 2500 points on one cruise, for the cruise you earn the points.

That's how it was explained to me.

This is exactly how it was explained to me and worked for me. As soon as I reached 2500 points for qualifying for the April 2019-March 2020 year, on my next cruise I was prime. It’s EXACTLY like airline frequent flier programs where you get the benefits immediately even though technically qualified for the next time frame.

Perfect, thank you! I just called the Casino line right before coming back here and clarified it with them again to make sure the prior rep that I talked to was correct based on what I read here.

I have 2076 points from my last cruise (this plan period), and just need 424 points to make the prime. I asked again, that I heard from other people that my benefits may not start until the following year, but she said that once I hit that, the casino host will contact me and a sticker will be placed on my card qualifying me for the free drinks.

It certainly would help to have something documented better to avoid the confusion, but this was the same way the first person I talked to on the casino line explained it to me, so as long as the casino host isn't confused, I think I'm good.

Can't wait to be onboard, we don't cruise for the casino, but the free drinks are a nice bonus to know that we'll acheive during this cruise.

And you can subtract your balcony discount from the total???

Barb

If you are using a certificate for dollars off it is applied using the C & A rates, including balcony discounts and OBC promotions. If you are using a certificate for a free cruise the casino has their own rates and C & A rates are not included.

I'm laughing as I type this but there isn't a way to see your status online is there? I got an email a while ago saying I was choice then I got another one saying "oh sorry you're prime." I haven't sailed yet but did get a casino email for money off (nothing free) and when I called the number on the email the recording said something about Prime member. Not sure if I could tell by the number they had me call. Of course I was too focused on booking a cruise I didn't think to ask what my level was (oops.)

In my experience, Casino Hosts vary wildly. Some actually know the current rules and are vary helpful to the downright rude and combative when you question them when they don't follow the casino royal rules or know how it works.

So I just got off a free Oasis of the Seas cruise thanks to my gambling friend. While on that cruise, she reached prime by about day 2 thanks to a previous cruise in December being added.

By the end of this cruise she had earned 2400 points to earn a free cruise certificate. The cruises available all are by 3/31/19.

It appears that she will also get another free cruise because she reached prime? and it can be any 8-day cruise? Is that correct? Can anyone give me any details about when this will be available to her and when it would have to be use by? We are trying to figure out whether to book using the free certificate or if we can book with her free prime cruise. We'd like to pick our own vs. using one of the ones listed on the certificate and probably won't be able to do 2 cruises by March if they both were to expire by then.

Any insight would be appreciated!

Ok, If she just got off the Oasis, those points are technically for the April 1, 2019- March 31, 2020. A december 2017 cruise would mean those points would go to the previous qualifying year, at which, once April 1, 2018 hit the qualifying balance would be reset.

I would call to make sure she is actually prime.

If she is prime, the free cruise is any 8 day or under cruise of your choosing in a inside room (can pay for the difference for other class of cabins) but it excludes all major holidays. If she is Prime for 2018 year, the cruise must be taken before march 31, 2019.

Thanks for clarifying. So if she is not prime (though they put the prime sticker on her seapass?) and we did the cruise certificate cruise in March and she earned another 100 points (2400 from last cruise plus 100 = 2500)then she would be prime for the 4/2019-3/2020 year and would get a free cruise that would have to be taken during that period. Is that correct?

If she earned 2400 points after March 31, 2018 and earns at least 100 more before April 1, 2019, she will be prime for the April 1, 2019- March 31, 2020 timeframe and will be given the free cruise that must be used before March 31, 2020.

If you are in a star loft, don't you get a drink package as part of the benefits?
