We are doing a B2B and I couldn't book the same cabin for all weeks so we must change. Does anyone know how this is handled? Do I have to pack like I was leaving the ship or can I just schlep my stuff from one cabin to the other ( luckily it's on the same floor just the other side of the ship)...how will I know when the cabin is clean so I can move my stuff? Do the stewards coordinate this kind of move? Any input would be wonderful...thanks..

On one of our B2B cruises on Princess where we changed staterooms, we had to simply pack up our belongings and our new stateroom steward moved them to the new room. I'd expect a similar process would occur on Carnival and suggest meeting your new stateroom steward towards the end of your first cruise. If you enjoy your waiters, you can ask to be in their section on the next cruise.

That's right....you can leaving hanging things in the closet and they will be moved "as is"....just pack up your personal items and folded things...

They will know you're staying for another "leg" and will get your new cabin ready ASAP, and get your stuff moved fairly early. You will be escorted off the ship, and given a new key card, then escorted back on....by then, your cabin should be ready.

We went a day or two before and met our next week steward. While I am sure there is a process in place to coordinate these types of moves I don't like to leave things to chance. So the first week steward and the second week steward were able to work out things between them. Hanging items were left on the hangers and shelf and drawer items were packed back in the suitcases and left in the room. I didn't pack things well, just kind of threw them into the suitcases. We did take one small carry on with us to breakfast and to the B2B waiting area that had vital to us things like prescription medication and electronics. A walk off, 15 second convo with customs and back on the ship to the atrium bar for a drink and a photo.

I usually try and move my own luggage. I simply place all my stuff in the closet, rather than have it just sitting around. in view. Like it or not, thief does occur. I find the steward and tell them I've moved and my things are in the closet. Works well for my preferences. I don't unpack anyway, so the move is simple and easy.

We are doing a B2B in February and doing a cabin change, also. Sounds like it is easy enough to have the luggage moved from one room to the next. But since Friday, the day before, is a SEA day, I am thinking I might want to actually get off the ship and stretch my legs a bit in Miami.

After they take the B2B-ers off the ship & back on with new Sign & Sail cards can we get off the ship and just treat it like another port day? From what I can tell there is not really much going on shipwise, and I don't think I'll want to spend that day at the pool. Miami is not going to be as warm as the Caribbean.

Maybe catch an Uber for Cuban Coffee in Little Havana, or visit South Beach for a little shopping. Our adult daughter will be cruising with us the 1st week, but not the 2nd, so it would be fun to hang out with her & see a little bit of Miami with her. We would be back on board by about 2pm, at the latest. At least that would make it seem like less of a wasted day.

You can move you luggage to your new cabin the morning of the change, or ask your cabin attendant to help! And yes, they are told ahead of time of B2B, and if necessary can lock luggage away in a cabin until your new cabin is ready!

Im sure someone will tell me i am wrong but I always thought you HAD to get off the ship regardless of back to back. its possible to leave your luggage but I thought you have to leave and get back on.

Yes, but it's just for customs, the group is led off and through customs then right back on the ship. They are asking about actually spending time off the ship that day instead of staying on all day.

I just didnt want anyone to think they can stay on the ship throughout which they cant do. it 'appeared' to me people were assuming they could. I know no one actually said they thought they could but I just got that feeling and wanted to make sure people knew they couldnt
