How to get an early debarkation assignment?

We have an early flight to catch, how do you get in one of the early groups to leave the ship?

HAL disembarks in groups which will be called when they are to proceed to disembark.

You will receive a Disembarkation Request Form during the cruise where you can request your preferred disembarkation time. Those with assigned Expedited Disembarkation will not put their luggage outside their stateroom for collection the night before disembarkation. When Expedited Disembarkation passengers are called, you will be the first to disembark the ship.

But remember that you have to be able to handle your bags by yourself - no assistance from the crew. Not everyone is able to do this.

If you don't want to take your luggage off by yourself and you find you have a later departure number, go to Guest Services and tell them you have an early flight - show them your confirmation as proof, and they will usually change your disembarkation time.

Smooth Sailing! :) :) :)

Once onboard, you will be given the opportunity for expedited disembarkation. You will depart the ship, depending on arrival and port, around 7:00 am. You will have to tend to your own luggage, so if you're capable of doing so, you'll be on your way to the airport in no time (and will have a quick pass through customs and security!). This is the BEST option if you have tight airline departures. Otherwise, you'll have to indicate your airline departure and hope for the next "first" off departure group.

If you need to go through Customs you will need to factor in time for that. In Fort Lauderdale we did expedited disembarkation and carried our own luggage off the ship. From our stateroom to the taxi stand was 15 minutes. However, we have Global Entry cards and were whisked to the head of the Customs line, which was already pretty long. Without that, our wait would have been significantly longer even at that early hour.

I understand that there is also some sort of app that passengers can use to get to the head of the Customs line. The people ahead of us were trying to use it but were having problems and I think they ended up having to go into the long line.

HAL passengers who 'Self-disembark' go first. BUT you're on your own to get your baggage from the pile near Customs gate and then get to the Airport. We've done it many times that way.

No, if you "self-disembark" you carry all your luggage off the ship yourself.
