paige228 Posted January 16, 2018 #1 Share Posted January 16, 2018 I received royal Caribbean gift card for Christmas. We are unable to go on our vacation and have to cancel. Does anyone know how I can sale or return the gift card? Has anyone done this in the past? The gift card was not used to book the cruise. I was planning on using it to book shore excursions in advance. Thank you!
Clarea Posted January 16, 2018 #2 Share Posted January 16, 2018 As far as I have read, you can only use the gift card to book a new cruise.
Tee & Chilli Posted January 16, 2018 #3 Share Posted January 16, 2018 Can you save the card for a later date?
paige228 Posted January 16, 2018 Author #4 Share Posted January 16, 2018 Maybe. We are unsure if we are able to go this year.. and I wasn’t sure if it expired.

Maybe you can find someone cruising to use it and get you back most/all of its cash value. Sent from my iPhone using Forums
paige228 Posted January 18, 2018 Author #6 Share Posted January 18, 2018 It is 3 separate gift certificates. 2 of them are $100 and one is for $50. $250 total.
gerif Posted January 18, 2018 #7 Share Posted January 18, 2018 How many different threads do you need to start on this subject? I’ll agree with Biker on your other thread - try eBay you might recover something.
Ashland Posted January 18, 2018 #8 Share Posted January 18, 2018 I'm assuming a gift card and a gift certificate for RCI are two different things. I received a $300.00 gift certificate (as a Xmas gift) and haven't applied it to my already booked cruise yet and was just reading the email that was sent to me about it from RCI and it stated it could be used towards anything onboard or just towards my final...as long as it was applied in a timely manner prior to cruise. Is this correct.?
LeeW Posted January 18, 2018 #9 Share Posted January 18, 2018 Not sure there is a plastic gift card on RCI. For sure the certificate must be redeemed before the cruise either for the cruise fare or onboard credit. Cannot be redeemed onboard.
