EllieinNJ Posted January 20, 2018 #1 Share Posted January 20, 2018 According to their website (not City Sightseeing) they say they can drop you off at the cruise terminal. Has anyone had experience with this?
barb&robman Posted January 20, 2018 #2 Share Posted January 20, 2018 The HOHO bus does come to a dock, but there are several docks and it may not necessarily be your ship. On cruise ship port days the HOHO is overwhelmed by passengers with full buses arriving at stops and no one able to get on. I would be very reluctant to advise you to depend on the buses to get to your ship. We spent 5 days in Copenhagen before our Baltic cruise last August and the Regal Princess was docked quite far away and not on the HOHO line. Earl Rosebery Posted January 22, 2018 #3 Share Posted January 22, 2018 The HoHo buses in Copenhagen are completely unreliable due to subway construction in the city centre and traffic at the new terminal. (There is only one lane in and out of the termial area. Up to an hour to exit the port!
Danish viking Posted January 22, 2018 #4 Share Posted January 22, 2018 How recent is your experience?
Earl Rosebery Posted January 28, 2018 #5 Share Posted January 28, 2018 May 2014 Barcelona to Copenhagen and June 2017 Southampton to Copenhagen to Stockholm. The first time we got on a HoHo at lAngeline pier. Got off at Tivoli and could not get back on. The second time we docked at Nordhaven. The ships shuttle bus to the city centre was delayed for an hour by traffic. Check it out on Google mape. There is one road out of the dockland area. (Ocean Quay). Must have been planned by a nitwit. The HoHo in Stockholm was also a disaster due to downtown traffic and construction.
Danish viking Posted January 28, 2018 #6 Share Posted January 28, 2018 Well I had the understanding that the traffic situation at Nordhavn was a thing of the past But the new tunnel out to the motorway has just opened and that will hopefully spread out the traffic even better so trucks etc to the motorway turns right and busses and taxies to the city center turn left at the huge intersection at the start of the harbour. Also all the heavy work at the metro line is done so that won´t affect traffic anymore.
