Rare aimcat Posted February 3, 2018 #1 Share Posted February 3, 2018 So we are considering maybe the Horizon for a sailing later this year and curious about the Havana rooms? I like the private area that comes with these! Any thoughts?
Rare 1025cruise Posted February 3, 2018 #2 Share Posted February 3, 2018 I've got the same conundrum. I'm leaning heavily towards a Havana cabin myself.
telebax51 Posted February 3, 2018 #3 Share Posted February 3, 2018 I have mine booked for the April 9 to May 23 Med cruise 24 days in a Havana Cabana Cabin can't wait a quite area to be after a long day on excursions, no chair hogs, enjoy the pool and hot tubes, i did not have to think twice about my decision
bjd2 Posted February 3, 2018 #4 Share Posted February 3, 2018 We had a Havana cabana on the Vista last year. We LOVED it! We have a Vista Havana corner balcony on the Horizon next year. It's like a different ship having that area.
Keys2Heaven Posted February 3, 2018 #5 Share Posted February 3, 2018 Personally, my wife and I loved the Havana aft-extended cabin on the Vista. The Havana area was very nice and never crowded. Plus, something about the area being separated from the rest of the cabins that made it feel extra special.
Computer Nerd Posted February 3, 2018 #6 Share Posted February 3, 2018 So we are considering maybe the Horizon for a sailing later this year and curious about the Havana rooms? I like the private area that comes with these! Any thoughts? I had a Havana inside on the Vista. The pool area is nice and the cabin was nice but if you are a smoker it's not worth to to trek from 5 aft to 5 forward or up to 11 for a smoke. lgdick54 Posted February 4, 2018 #8 Share Posted February 4, 2018 Only reason we're going back to Carnival is the advent of the Havana area, really dont plan to venture too far from it besides meals and some of the entertainment options Sent from my SM-G920T using Tapatalk
Port of Tampa Posted February 4, 2018 #9 Share Posted February 4, 2018 We did it on the Vista and would not do it again...it was a last minute upgrade from the casino but looking back wish we kept our regular balcony cabin. You have no privacy the walkway to the pool bar area is just outside your patio area so you are constantly shutting the curtains etc...the patio furniture was very low and uncomfortable. On a good note it was quiet I think there was an age restriction like 14 and up.

Joebucks Posted February 4, 2018 #11 Share Posted February 4, 2018 What is the cost difference in general between the other room types and Havana? Is it more than the balcony? Less?
lcpagejr Posted February 4, 2018 #12 Share Posted February 4, 2018 Once you do Havana...it will be difficult to cruise again without it. Now that the ships are getting more crowded...the private area was so stress free and relaxful. Also, I disagree with the lack of privacy comment above. We had cabin 5239 which was last balcony before pool/bar area. It was fantastic!!! so close to the pool and I swear....other than our neighbors next to us who we talked to frequently when we sat on our porch/balcony...I rarely saw anyone walking on the deck in front of our cabin. This area is restricted to Havana only until 7pm daily. Another bonus is that you can access your cabin from your porch/balcony. They give you a seperate swipe card which also doubles for access at main doors on Deck 5 which leads into Havana. I will agree with 1 comment. Other than the swing seat on your porch...the other 2 chairs were literally unusable!!
pearl71490 Posted February 21, 2018 #13 Share Posted February 21, 2018 Thinking of deck 7 aft Havana extended balcony..looking At the rattan furniture..not too thrilled..would rather have chairs..wonder if they can get them if you ask..is it also too sunny?. Also..always get midship..how is movement in aft..any difference in calm seas?
