We are 2 seniors with luggage who want the faster SW Train to Southampton, and could someone please

describe the way we would get from Jubilee Line arrival at Waterloo Tube Station up to the Rail Station for

departure on SW train to Southampton from Platform 4? Bob++ posted a video of this information regarding

Victoria Station, and it was very helpful. Hopefully we can get the same for Waterloo Station? Thank you.

Here is a video of Waterloo (not international anymore) Station. It's a bit disjointed but it does give a good idea of what to expect at this busy station.

For what it's worth, you only have to follow the signs. There is a lift if you need it.

The video was most helpful. It looks like there are escalators all the way up, and when you get to the mail rail station,

Platform 4 & 5 are practically straight across from where you come in. Looks like a plan!! Thank you.

Copying the text of a post from the other thread where this question was asked:-

You actually really don't need a video for getting out of either Tube station.

But FWIW, from Waterloo Tube Jubilee Line, you simply follow the "Way Out" signs towards the mainline station (usually indicated by the word "Trains" and the red "crow's foot" National Rail symbol - see the photo below). I'm pretty sure it's escalator up, then escalator up. This will get you to ticket hall/street level. Pass through the gate line, and then you'll need to go ahead and to your right to take an escalator up to mainline concourse level.

You can see all of that in the diagram at the bottom (clicky to the original) will give you an idea (ignore the long passageway to the right that leads to the Bakerloo Line - you don't need that).

While we're on the subject of Waterloo train station ;), we want to purchase single day travel passes from the train counter while we're in London in August. We want to take advantage of the 2 for 1 promo that comes along with train tickets, hence needing to purchase them from the train counter and not oyster cards or regular tube travel passes. We're staying at Premier Inn County Hall so we'll walk to Waterloo; but I've read it's a big place and I'm wondering the easiest way to find the train counter? Or just the easiest way to get travel passes with the rail logo on them?

The ticket office is opposite platforms 15-17 in the mainline (not underground) station, which are at the right hand side if you are facing the platforms.

See the middle plan on his page http://www.nationalrail.co.uk/stations-and-destinations/stations-made-easy/london-waterloo-station-plan

Or in this picture, it is between the two staircases on the right, under the balcony - you can just see two large blue signs that say ‘Tickets’.

Thanks for the link. Looks like we'll need to walk most of the way around the station and enter from the opposite side. Should be easy enough, and it's nice to know what we're looking for once we get in there.

You won’t need to walk around the station. You should enter where it says ‘bridge over York Road’. From your hotel, you walk down that road, go up the steps to the bridge and enter Waterloo there, near the ticket office.
