Mybearsbaby Posted February 8, 2018 #1 Share Posted February 8, 2018 Hi everyone! My sister and I are looking into booking a Royal Caribbean cruise. I have been 2 times before, but my sister hasn't been on Royal yet. Our last few cruises have been on Carnival. Our last Royal Caribbean cruise was in 2012...what all has changed since then? Is there still an included formal dining room?
Pinkypromise8 Posted February 8, 2018 #2 Share Posted February 8, 2018 :) I would love to know the answer to this too! I have been wondering.
Clarea Posted February 8, 2018 #3 Share Posted February 8, 2018 You can bring two bottles of wine onboard, per stateroom, subject to $15 corkage if brought to a public area. Gratuities are charged automatically to your onboard account. Smoking banned on balconies. OBC can be used for pre-cruise purchases. Room service costs $8 per order, except for certain items in the morning. Non-refundable deposits are required for GS and better staterooms, optional for others. Mybearsbaby Posted February 8, 2018 Author #4 Share Posted February 8, 2018 Can you still bring your own drinks (water, baby formula, soda) onboard?
Clarea Posted February 8, 2018 #5 Share Posted February 8, 2018 Can you still bring your own drinks (water, baby formula, soda) onboard? Technically prohibited, but usually allowed.

We booked a GS, on the Allure last week, and the option for a refundable deposit was available.
cruiseguy1016 Posted February 8, 2018 #9 Share Posted February 8, 2018 The Main Dining room is still free of charge, as is the Windjammer Café. Most ships now have multiple "for a fee" restaurant options.

grandgeezer Posted February 9, 2018 #11 Share Posted February 9, 2018 Some sort of mistake I expect. If it’s a mistake, it's still showing up on their website. October 21, on the Allure, pricing a Grand Suite. Two choices,$1342 p.p. nonrefundable deposit. $1460 p.p., refundable deposit. Check for yourself. tbillcruising Posted February 9, 2018 #15 Share Posted February 9, 2018 Some sort of mistake I expect. I don't think so, we booked a GS for our fall cruise and our deposit is fully refundable as well.

grandgeezer Posted February 9, 2018 #17 Share Posted February 9, 2018 How long ago did you make the initial booking? Though this isn’t a reply to my post, I booked mine the first part of last week. I took the nonrefundable price and the extra $100 obc rather than the refundable option.
SG65CB Posted February 9, 2018 #18 Share Posted February 9, 2018 The assistant waiter doesn't come around with a basket of rolls asking each person what kind of roll they want anymore, now they just put a basket of rolls on the table and you serve yourself. Cruise last yr was 50% off 1st passenger and 100% off second. Was changed by end of day, but know at least one that got it and sailed cheap... SRF Posted February 11, 2018 #20 Share Posted February 11, 2018 We booked a GS, on the Allure last week, and the option for a refundable deposit was available. It should not have been. Was this directly with RCI or through a TA?
