vwgolf Posted February 13, 2018 #1 Share Posted February 13, 2018 We are taking the 6th April cruise on Azura to Spain and Portugal and one of the stops is at Lisbon which we have visited a number of times been never been to the Cristo Rei statue on the opposite side of the river. Has anybody made this journey and has some suggestions as to the best way of getting there? Thanks.

daiB Posted February 13, 2018 #4 Share Posted February 13, 2018 We went about 10 years ago on a coach tour from the ship. Was the trip to Setubal? That’s where we were going when we went to see the statue. Not shy still do the trip. Sent from my iPad using Forums
vwgolf Posted February 13, 2018 Author #5 Share Posted February 13, 2018 Does this help? https://lisbon-portugal-guide.com/lisbon-transport/lisbon-to-christo-rei-statue-ferry-bus.html Yes, thanks, I did see that actually but was wondering if there were any personal recommendations. There are no excursions from the ship and the hop-on hop-off bus doesn't seem to cover that particular attraction.

Lesanne Posted February 20, 2018 #7 Share Posted February 20, 2018 We did this in November we walked down the front to the ferry terminal where you have to by the travel card 0.50cents for the ferry across, when you get off the bus station is in front of you get the local bus up to Christo. it then costs €5 to go up the lift. Very easy to do and when got back walked into Lisbon.
Britboys Posted February 20, 2018 #8 Share Posted February 20, 2018 Yes, we did the ferry and bus route to it a number of years back. It was really easy to do and definitely worthwhile visiting the statue.
john watson Posted February 21, 2018 #9 Share Posted February 21, 2018 I have used Viator in USA on helicopters tours but they do have a number of Lisbon based tours available some customizable others at different levels of off the wall to a traditional sensible vehicle. Have a look at their site. You can email the operators about specifics.
