I read online that my cruise was organizing a slot pull. I was wondering if this is just something fun to do? Is it a waste of time? Has anyone ever won any money? Tell me have you ever been in a slot pull and what was your experience like? Thanks

We have lost twice on Slot Pulls, and won once! The win was a $750 spin by me on the Wheel Of Fortune machine. :D I think we had about 10 players.

It's more about the fun, not the money! If someone is organizing a Slot Pull, by all means, try it, $20 or so for fun time with new friends!!:)

I would not join one again due to feeling it was a waste of time. I think we all made about $10 from the pull, so we came out ahead, but it took 4 hours of my sea day that I had to stick around for. I also do not spend much time in the casino when on a cruise. I paid to be on a ship and I want to maximize my time only doing what I can do on a ship. There are plenty of casinos on land if that was what I enjoyed doing.

The real winner was the slot pull organizer, we did everything on her sail and sign card on day one, she definitely got free drinks for the cruise and maybe even a Premier offer. We had 200 pullers in our group and a few pretty big wins during the pull.

From what I hear, the odds of winning the slots are a lot lower on cruise ships. Although, it's not like they were amazing at land-based casinos either.

However, you can still win. Plus, if you like the gamble, you can get really cheap cruise deals.

I've seen a slot pull hit for $2,000 on a Wheel spin. Last month on the NCL Jade, about 40 people participated and we won a few hundred more than we put in......we then went to the roulette wheel and put it all on red for one spin and doubled our $$$$. Everyone left happy.

We found the slot pull to be fun even when the group didn't show a profit. At a rate of $25/hr, it was certainly less expensive than just playing the machines ourselves.

How much would 4 hours of entertainment from playing the slots oneself cost? Most slot pulls I've been in take about an hour or so, depending on the size of the group.

If one doesn't enjoy the slots, then it certainly can be boring, but when everyone is cheering for the next big win, it can be very energetic.

WOW, four hours ?!!? That's crazy. Ours have taken like 30 minutes to an hour at the very most. I have done only a couple, one time we each won $32, one time we lost the whole $20, and I think we had one time where we got some of the money back.

I can't imagine the slot organizer got a Premier cruise on it, but maybe she did get Drinks on Us card, which is the lowest comp you can get. People who get the Premier cruises are playing a LOT more than 1500 points. Did you guys put in $20 each ?? It takes 1500 points for DOU and $2.50 = 1 point, so 200 x $20 = $4000 / 2.50 = 1600 points. Typically a slot pull only generates at the most 200-600 points, so not even close to DOU. I can't imagine 200 people ?!?!?!

Yes, We participate every cruise since we have found out about them. They are SUPER FUN ! We're all whooping and hollering anytime we hit any little thing and going crazy when we get big wins or get to spin the bonus Wheel. Other people in the casino are coming up and asking if they can join in, haha. It's a very cheap way for us to play "big money" slots for only $15-20. I would never normally sit down at a slot machine and bet $5-10 per spin !!

Plus, it's a fun group activity to get to meet other people, then the rest of the cruise you have people to say Hi to, or play trivia with, or dance, or whatever, we even met friends that we really got along well with and went to shows with them and stuff.
