katmu Posted February 14, 2018 #1 Share Posted February 14, 2018 I would like to do a Caribbean cruise out of Port Canaveral in late 2019. I've only done one other Caribbean cruise about 10 years ago and that included Cozumel, Puerto Costa and Belize so I'm leaning towards an Eastern Caribbean itinerary I think. I will be traveling solo and was interested in trying one of the studio oceanview cabins on Harmony. Prices between the 3 are not different enough to be a factor for me. Which of these 3 options would you pick and why? Option 1 on 12/1/2019: I like San Juan and St. Maarten. I'm not sure about CocoCay in December with the temperatures and tender. Port Canaveral, Florida Depart 4:30pm At Sea At Sea Philipsburg, Netherlands Antilles Arrive 8:00am Depart 5:00pm San Juan, Puerto Rico Arrive 7:00am Depart 4:00pm At Sea Cococay, Bahamas Arrive 8:00am Depart 5:00pm Port Canaveral, Florida Option 2 on 10/6/2019: I like the stops on this one but the port time in San Juan seems short and it's hurricane season. Port Canaveral, Florida Depart 4:30pm At Sea Labadee, Haiti Arrive 7:00am Depart 4:00pm San Juan, Puerto Rico Arrive 2:00pm Depart 9:00pm Philipsburg, Netherlands Antilles Arrive 8:00am Depart 5:00pm At Sea At Sea Port Canaveral, Florida Option 3 on 11/3/2019: I like Labadee, not as enthusiastic about Falmouth and this is still hurricane season. Port Canaveral, Florida Depart 4:30pm At Sea Labadee, Haiti Arrive 7:00am Depart 4:00pm Falmouth, Jamaica Arrive 9:30am Depart 6:00pm At Sea Cozumel, Mexico Arrive 7:00am Depart 5:00pm At Sea Port Canaveral, Florida Arrive 6:00am
Robo1098 Posted February 14, 2018 #2 Share Posted February 14, 2018 One thing on Coco Cay. When this cruise happens it will no longer be rendering. It will dock there. Oasis class does not tender. Personally I would go for either option one or two.

katmu Posted February 14, 2018 Author #5 Share Posted February 14, 2018 So assuming no tender at CocoCay, how do the beaches at Labadee compare to CocoCay? I'm mostly looking for a nice relaxing beach day.

accio_7 Posted February 14, 2018 #7 Share Posted February 14, 2018 On my December 2018 cruise on Adventure, our ports of call are Labadee, San Juan, St. Maarten, and St. Kitts. All are ports I have never visited before, which is important to me as I like to explore new destinations on vacation. Anyway, I took this last point into consideration when selecting my December 2019 Harmony cruise and chose a Western itinerary. Our ports of call are CocoCay, Cozumel, Costa Maya, and Roatan. I do agree with others on either options 1 or 2, guess it will come down to price ultimately. I’m booked in a studio ocean view on Harmony, staterooms look really nice [emoji4] Here’s a video: Good luck! I think Coco Cay has more nice beach area thn Labadee. You can still get to an uncrowded area of the beach there.
Rare lazydayz Posted February 14, 2018 #10 Share Posted February 14, 2018 I like the second one. It is spectacular to sail from San Juan at night.

Cozumel is an ok port stop so is Falmouth. Doesn’t sound like much difference between the 3 itineraries (and I’ve been to all these places multiple times) so I’d randomly choose. Ashland Posted February 14, 2018 #12 Share Posted February 14, 2018 OP...Go with itinerary # 2... Don't let the word "hurricane season" scare you off...chances are slim..we enjoy this particular month...and so far haven't ever had any problem. Best of luck to you and enjoy whatever you decide. katmu Posted February 16, 2018 Author #14 Share Posted February 16, 2018 How does St. Thomas compare to St. Maarten as a stop? I have always wanted to visit St. John but I know that St. John had quite a bit of damage from the hurricanes last year.

Would imagine by 2019,they will be back to normal, barring additional damage in the 2 hurricane seasons between now and then.
