daletabu Posted February 21, 2018 #26 Share Posted February 21, 2018 We were quite happy doing the free Barcelona tour. Check out on trip advisor, we used the #1 free tour where you pay at the end whatever you see fit as value. It was a lot of fun if you don't mind walking. Ofmyheart Posted February 21, 2018 #27 Share Posted February 21, 2018 Almost forgot.....take the FREE shuttle that Barcelona provides to Columbus statue at foot of Las Ramblas. There is a small sign outside the terminal by the parking lot so you may have to ask someone where it is. As I recall the Princess shuttle was $8 per person. Where exactly is the free shuttle located from the ship itself? As compared to Princess' shuttle? How bad is the wait to get on? emeraldlake Posted February 21, 2018 #28 Share Posted February 21, 2018 The Barcelona shuttle which seems like it is now a few euro to use is located on the sidewalk near the parking lot. The Princess shuttle was in the front of the terminal. The line was long but buses seem to come pretty quickly. Dont remember a long wait. On the way back there was no line at all. shepp Posted May 18, 2018 #31 Share Posted May 18, 2018 Barcelona has a lovely, easy-to-use Metro that'll get you where you want to go from wherever you are, quickly and cheaply. No real reason to pay for HOHO unless you want to. If you're interested in seeing the interiors of the Gaudi buildings (for many, the highlight of the city) be sure to book in advance, especially for La Sagrada Familia - the best sight in Barcelona IMO - but also for Casa Mila and Casa Batló. Rare OzKiwiJJ Posted May 19, 2018 #32 Share Posted May 19, 2018 Note there are two HoHo bus companies in Barcelona. One has two loops, the other has three loops. We used the one with two loops and did both, one each day. Each took around 2 hours not counting stops. They were a great way to get an overview of the city. We'd booked La Sagrada Familia separately and just got a taxi to and from our hotel to that. Taxis are very cheap and good in Barcelona. We also did a fair amount of wandering around by ourselves, especially around the Gothic quarter.

You can also use the subway to get to La Sagrada Familia. If you go there, buy your ticket online from them before going. The line to buy tickets can be over an hour long. There are pockets in this city where pick pockets are very prevalent. Make sure to check out the sites on line for current info as to where they are working. When using Barcelonadaytours, they dropped us right outside the door to the entry of places to see thus avoiding the problem areas near by. caribill Posted May 19, 2018 #34 Share Posted May 19, 2018 Don't worry. The port has a shuttle bus, run by the city, that will leave you at the Christopher Columbus statue. You can get the HOHO bus nearby. The hoho is your best option for seeing a wide core of Barcelona. It's a very easy city to navigate one you have your bearings. Enjoy your visit! This solution does not take care of the OP's luggage.
