tradosaurus Posted February 17, 2018 #1 Share Posted February 17, 2018 Sailing on 5 day Caribbean this Monday on the Valor out of Galveston. . Where is a good place to eat the 1st day that won't be too crowded? Some place that most people don't discover until Day 2?
salty dingo Posted February 17, 2018 #2 Share Posted February 17, 2018 The answer used to be the MDR, but I doubt it's open on embarkation day for lunch anymore. I would go to the Lido and see how long the lines are there. You will usually have several choices like burgers, tacos, pizza, or a buffet. Sarcastic Mama Posted February 17, 2018 #3 Share Posted February 17, 2018 Guys is always good, but everyone goes there first. The tacos are good and the deli makes some great sandwiches.
Rare MeganGC1983 Posted February 17, 2018 #4 Share Posted February 17, 2018 The BBQ place on 10 above Rosie's has some good options. The pulled pork and beef brisket were nice when we were on there a week ago, and no one was EVER up there. Quilcruisers Posted February 17, 2018 #7 Share Posted February 17, 2018 We went on the valor in October and had lunch on the uncrowded lido deck inside the restaurant. We had to get guys burgers but brought them inside because it was drizzling rain outside. It rained most of that first day but very light rain so everyone was inside . We enjoyed the valor, it was never too crowded for us . This was October 2017. We have always found nice seating up by the bbq place too, this is where we would meet as a family . Also we found the back of the ship behind the pool on the 9th floor (by pizza)less crowded the first day and covered. Another place you could try is the red frog pub. It’s a bit of a walk but at least you could take your food there and sit at one of the tables. Sent from my iPad using Forums

Cruiserbarbie Posted February 20, 2018 #11 Share Posted February 20, 2018 On Valor last month and yes everyone wants Guy's. But if you are facing the big screen with Guy's on your left, everyone croweds that line. If you go around to the left of Guy's there is a secondary line, usually less crowded.
