bill_posters_is_innocent Posted February 23, 2018 #1 Share Posted February 23, 2018 Hi, My final payment is due next month and I want to know if Cunard can still add 2% if one is living in the UK and pays by credit card. I believe the UK government have banned this practice, but as Cunard is registered abroad the charge can still be applied. I think this could be rather unclear from a legal point of view. Thanks in advance for any replies.
Summergee Posted February 23, 2018 #2 Share Posted February 23, 2018 Why not call Cunard and ask them?

Host Hattie Posted February 23, 2018 #4 Share Posted February 23, 2018 From the Cunard uk website "The legislation related to the charging of credit card fees will be changing on 13 January 2018. As a result guests will not be charged a credit card fee on payment transactions made from 11 January 2018."

They might be put out at someone in the UK considering them to live 'abroad'. :)
Ynox Posted February 23, 2018 #6 Share Posted February 23, 2018 Yep - no card surcharge now. I used my Amex to pay my last balance for a zero cost. Great way to earn a load of Avios!

Nope. Just think how many companies trading in the UK and EU are registered outside the EU.
