gwsster Posted February 27, 2018 #26 Share Posted February 27, 2018 I just got back from WDW and found what I thought was a flaw in security. At all of the parks you go through bag screening first. Then you go through a secondary metal detector but your bag is slid on a table outside of the metal detector. If I had something in my waistband at the bag check, then transferred said item to the bag before going through the metal detector then what was the point? I am sure Disney has figured this out, but I thought the procedure was odd. I had already flown internationally twice and visited Six Flags Over Georgia a few times before a terrifying "weapon" on my person was confiscated at Six Flags. The offending item? A set of small fingernail clippers, attached to my keychain. Not the "scissors" type, either. I'm not sure how you could consider them dangerous at an amusement park -- "Okay, I'm hijacking this roller-coaster to Cuba! Back off or I'll give you a manicure!" -- but there they went.
Rare xpcdoojk Posted February 27, 2018 #27 Share Posted February 27, 2018 Has anyone ever flown into Cancun? After going through immigration the custom check is pressing a button. Green light, you go through. Red light is a full inspection of all your luggage. It’s the darndest system . . . (Sorry I know not directly cruise related but on topic of travel security). That is the Mexican system whatever airport you arrive at. JC
spookwife Posted February 27, 2018 #28 Share Posted February 27, 2018 A 4" knife? Like a "steak knife"....they are everywhere on the ship. I wouldn't worry about it. But hairspray? I'd say 60% of the women have hairspray. Odd! not odd, esp. if aerosol(under pressure) its flammable. as for the 4 inch knife.. it was okay because I am pretty sure 4 inches is within the length permitted. It is just their way of random screenings.
