Rare Keith1010 Posted March 14, 2018 #2 Share Posted March 14, 2018 I am not sure if you have done this but in addition to comments you receive on this board you may also want to visit http://www.tripadvisor.com I find their reviews helpful when making a hotel decision. JohninDC Posted March 14, 2018 #3 Share Posted March 14, 2018 No personal experience with that hotel, but Coconut Grove is a fun, mostly upscale area of Miami, but a long way from POM -- plan on $30+ in cab fare to get back to your car. You might consider staying cheap outside of Miami/FLL (West Palm is about 2 hours from POM, or even Orlando with 1000's of hotels), and then driving to POM and parking at the port. Your call! ;)
sandpiper35 Posted March 14, 2018 #4 Share Posted March 14, 2018 Coconut Grove is a beautiful pedestrian friendly area 6.7 miles, about 15 minutes from the POM. It is a destination in itself. People that know drive out of their way to visit it. Only down town hotels are closer to POM, DT is not as much fun as CG. Having the chance to do it, it would be a travesty to miss one of the oldest, and most historic areas of Miami. Your hotel is lovely. Cheers. sandpiper35 Posted March 14, 2018 #5 Share Posted March 14, 2018 Just for fun check the Muntiny, the Mayfair, or the Sonesta hotels, they are closer to the water and to the action. Cheers.
sandpiper35 Posted March 14, 2018 #6 Share Posted March 14, 2018 I know the Hampton gives you free breakfast, but, if you miss breakfast at "Le Bouchon" in the Grove, you would have missed a destination. It's wonderful French café, with a relaxed, homey friendly atmosphere, where they really cook your food, and you can relax and see the world go by while you dine at a window table. Cheers.
