cndcruiser65 Posted March 25, 2018 #1 Share Posted March 25, 2018 I have tried to book a hotel room for the Sheraton Old San Juan for 1 night before our cruise in February 2019 and every site I look at says it is not available. Is it really already sold out or do they not open up rooms until closer to the date. Every other hotel has rooms available.

Is it really already sold out or do they not open up rooms until closer to the date. Every other hotel has rooms available. I believe you're a bit too early...keep checking...we just recently got a great rate (using a AAA discount booked directly with the hotel) for Sept 6-7 2018. We have enjoyed this hotel and it's great location.

ScottR714 Posted April 6, 2018 #4 Share Posted April 6, 2018 It’s available but it’s a 2 night minimum stay-encountered the same situation for our cruise in March-try a mock booking for 2 nights before your cruise instead of 1 Sent from my iPad using Forums
Pookeybear1966 Posted April 12, 2018 #5 Share Posted April 12, 2018 I don't believe they have 2019 rates open yet. It's too far in advance. I did book our December date though for this year. Maybe call them?
cltnccruisers Posted April 12, 2018 #6 Share Posted April 12, 2018 We were in OSJ last month and checked out the Sheraton and El Convento for a 2020 cruise. The Sheraton is very handy to the pier but seemed very commercial. El Convento, on the other hand, is sooooooo much classier.

El Convento needs a bit up updating...perhaps then it will be worth the $$$'s...not right now though. JMHO

We didn't see the rooms. But we're a couple years out. The location, though, seems so much better, IMHO.

Cyber Kat Posted April 14, 2018 #10 Share Posted April 14, 2018 El Convento needs a bit up updating...perhaps then it will be worth the $$$'s...not right now though. JMHO We just stayed there last month and it was was lovely. The people couldn’t have been nicer. They even upgraded our room so we had a water view. Cyber Kat Posted April 14, 2018 #12 Share Posted April 14, 2018 So glad you found it lovely...but it still needs updating based on recent price point. We didn’t see any need for updating. Everything was fine. Our opinion differs from yours and we were just there. Sent from my iPad using Forums
drarill Posted April 14, 2018 #13 Share Posted April 14, 2018 This is a good option if you want to stay in Old San Juan. Close to El Convento. https://www.decanterhotel.com

Just yesterday booked Sheraton Old San Juan using SPG starpoints for one night Jan.28,2019. It is a Monday night.
SuzD123 Posted April 18, 2018 #15 Share Posted April 18, 2018 I made our reservation last year (pre-hurricane) for the Sheraton OSJ (1-night pre cruise stay) using a 3rd party vendor without any difficulty. We'll be checking in Friday, May 11 and checking out Saturday, May 12 though I had heard through others that there might be a 2-night min stay required. Not for us though. Not sure if it was the vendor we used or timing of the reservation.
FlaMommy75 Posted April 20, 2018 #16 Share Posted April 20, 2018 I just booked the Sheraton for Saturday, November 17th, 2018 for one night. I booked through SPG’s website and used points though. Sent from my iPhone using Forums
