Our first visit to Barcelona was part of a three day pre-cruise stay about 20 years ago.

 

Since that time we have visited Barcelona several other times on various itineraries with stops of one to two days.

 

During those early visits we did several organized tours.

 

These days on our visits we pretty much go out on our own and just walk portions of the city.

There is a major market off Las Ramblas that we often visit to see what is sold including dairy/fruits/vegetables/poultry/meat.

Just like at many markets throughout Italy and France so many the produce looks wonderful.

Just like other cities people look for opportunities to make some money doing all sorts of things.

There are many shops along Las Ramblas and also other shops outside such as this one selling flowers.

 

You do have to smell the roses in terms of just strolling slowly and taking everything in.
