Questions about shore excursions

My daughter and I have a cruise planned on the Freedom for April 2019. We are frequent Disney cruisers but wanted to try something different (and less expensive :p too).

 

My question is regarding shore excursions. We will be doing our own thing at Freeport and Key West but are leaning towards booking the Atlantis Aquaventure through Carnival. When can I reserve that excursion online through Carnival? And, will I be charged at the time of booking or when we are on the ship?

It will become available a few months before your cruise. You pay when you book it.

For April 2019 the excursions should open up any day now. Keep checking on it daily and it'll show up. You are charged when you book it.

You may want to check the Comfort Inn and Suites...they do "day rooms" with access to Atlantis...usually cheaper than thru the ship. A cab ride isn't too expensive! It's not THAT far away!

We have a cruise booked for Feb 23, 2019 and there still isn't any excursions listed. Some say they don't start popping up until about six months before the cruise.
