Rare BirdTravels Posted March 28, 2018 #26 Share Posted March 28, 2018 It must be fixed. I read it on Cruise Critics. Some people are just sore losers.
DCLCrazy Posted March 28, 2018 #27 Share Posted March 28, 2018 Some of you have a very loose concept of "rigged". Games are not rigged, however the rules of games are set up so that the mathematical probability of the outcome of any given play favors a win by the house. There is no need to rig a game. In fact it would be detrimental to the house to do so. The only way the house makes money is if people play. People only play when they see wins being paid. The bottom line is that money spent on gambling is purely entertainment just as much as buying a ticket to a Broadway show. If you go into any game of chance expecting that you will win you are only fooling yourself and it has nothing to do with anything being fixed or rigged. That’s also why, if you play slot machines, you should make a habit of sitting on the aisle or main walking area. Those machines hit more often because they are more visible to people walking around when they hit. It’s good advertising. :) Sent from my iPhone using Forums

Rare BirdTravels Posted March 28, 2018 #30 Share Posted March 28, 2018 Were you in the HavenS when you read it in Cruise CriticS? I certainly was in the Havens when I read it on Cruise Critics. You and Pizza know it. Actually, Pizza is cruising now and not in the Havens.

DMH15 Posted March 28, 2018 #32 Share Posted March 28, 2018 the bingo is def fixed. if i play, i only play twice. the first day, because you have a chance to have your receipt randomly pulled to play free all week. then the last day, because tehy will never give away the coverall jackpot during the week because that's what gets people in, the thrill of possibly winning. that said, ive never seen anyone on any of my sails win the coverall. deal or no deal is a scam too. people are idiots with this game tho, ive seen people have $500 or so and instead of taking the deal they really think they can beat the computer, and they then walk away with fifty cents. That is because they are stupid, greedy or both. My friend on the Jewel played and won around $500. Sent from my iPhone using Forums
DMH15 Posted March 28, 2018 #33 Share Posted March 28, 2018 Ok. Vegas is rigged too. I played 3 sessions of electronic bingo at red rock this morning and I won SIX TIMES! Including a coverall. I left with over $500 profit. And sometimes I don't win. I read a very interesting article on slot machines once and it help me to understand and not be frustrated. You look at it this way, every spin of the slot machine is predetermined… You know how sometimes you think it's just going to get there and it doesn't and you felt like oh if I just pulled the handle little harder or something like that... well that didn't matter. So if it's your first pull (or button push), it's really just the next in a succession of predetermined spin of the reels. Chance? Yes you have a chance… But nobody says it is a even chance. You know the house always wins. Sent from my iPhone using Forums
ColinIllinois Posted March 29, 2018 #34 Share Posted March 29, 2018 The worst people on board a cruise ship are those ones that gamble, smoke and hog the deck chairs. Especially when they do it at the same time. Turrble human beings.
bluesea777 Posted March 29, 2018 #35 Share Posted March 29, 2018 FWIW I personally witnessed someone win $1,000 on the Key Master game. Yeah, but how much money did he put in before he won the $1,000?

Love my butler Posted March 29, 2018 #37 Share Posted March 29, 2018 Bingo on NCL is just a very bad bet. When you compare the income versus the payouts, the passengers are getting royally screwed. If you enjoy tossing your money to NCL for a few minutes of 'fun', by all means go for it. Just don't get annoyed when some of us laugh.
Travelenfool Posted March 29, 2018 #38 Share Posted March 29, 2018 FWIW I personally witnessed someone win $1,000 on the Key Master game. My husband won $1000 on a Carnival! We went home from that cruise with a little over $800.00 left in our on board account! Cashed it out and walked off! You can win... but only if you play!!! LD Silver Posted March 29, 2018 #39 Share Posted March 29, 2018 Gambling is for suckers. In over 20 cruises, I have never spent a nickel in the casino or on bingo. Alcohol.......well that's a different story.
fastpitchdad Posted March 29, 2018 #40 Share Posted March 29, 2018 BINGO on cruise ships are definitely a scam but because of the money they pay out vs what they take in and not because the game is rigged. Jackpot bingo is 45 ball...the odds of getting blackout in 45 balls is about 12 million to 1...there is no reason to rig the game.
Rare BirdTravels Posted March 29, 2018 #41 Share Posted March 29, 2018 I won't be in the HavenS on my next cruise but I am going to try to get a VibeS pass. Vibes passes are a waste of money. A clever ploy to charge you for nothing.
megansdad1 Posted March 29, 2018 #42 Share Posted March 29, 2018 Not rigged, just heavily odded to the house advantage. To give some perspective. I libe near one if the biggest casinos in the world. Their jackpots are set at 48 balls and at that number, jackpot hits are very rare Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk

Casinos often set slots on high traffic areas at lower packback percentage because traffic flow will keep them busy and make the casino more money. Scrivine41 Posted March 29, 2018 #44 Share Posted March 29, 2018 I noticed now that most cruiselines use the electronic bingo where the cruise staff presses a button and the computer generates the numbers. I remember when they used the ping pong balls and the machine spit out the balls. They even had someone come up to the stage to verify that all the bingo balls were there. I also remember on the last day on the cruise EVERYONE played because the Jackpot MUST go and people would win thousands of dollars. Now it seems like you have to get full card Bingo within a certain amount of balls called. Usually 45 or less. In the old fashion way, yes this is possible because it is totally random and a computer is not "calling" the balls. On my recent cruise, I noticed that a lot of the Bs Is Ns and Os were called but very few Gs were called. When it came up to the 45th ball, there were only 4Gs called which meant no Jackpot Bingo was possible. And you guessed it, yes the 46th ball it was a G and the next 5 balls after. To me I hate how Bingos are fixed this way. I know people play for the fun of it and people do win $$ but I just feel that it is wrong to advertise and say you will give away thousands of dollars when they know no one will ever win the Jackpot. Its also sad to see them push and upsell even more and sell last minute Jackpot cards to upsell and make people think they can win. I wonder if the people nowadays playing are first time cruisers who get suckered into this scam. My advice--better luck of winning in the casino at the table betting on red or black on roulette.lol Agree completely. We did Escape April ,17. First thing noticed how prices on bingo jumped. Second people who won, only won like $75. I told my husband not worth playing as we payed more to play then you were able to win. I too noticed a computer as well and felt something was off. They also try and get you with those instant tickets where you win like $2 but you charge like $49 to buy the tickets. Better luck in the casino! latvian67 Posted November 30, 2019 #45 Share Posted November 30, 2019 Computer not fixed, but rather Cruise keeps around 80% of money, returning 20%. Much better odds in Catholic Church.
HowardK Posted November 30, 2019 #46 Share Posted November 30, 2019 AC slots pay about 90% of the take, are the cruise lines regulated as well? Has anyone won the on ship lotto ever- even if just a partial prize? Lottery is a sport- just like poker; how have people here done on regular poker and video poker? I am wondering how the video poker odds are on ship vs. AC/Las Vegas.
Oakman58 Posted November 30, 2019 #47 Share Posted November 30, 2019 Another game that has ridiculous odds of winning a big prize is Deal or No Deal. The person on the stage is the only one with a real chance of winning prize money worth any decent amount but not big bucks. I've gone to these shows just to watch.
