I know folks don't come here for the crocks but talk about entertaining the kids! It seems the snorkeling was amazing. We were seated in the area in front of the reef. Amazing.

So, there are two parts to chankanaab. The dolphin adventure side is wayyyyy more crowded. I don't recommend it.

The pool is nice but the area is slammed.

 

This is where the dolphin experience is done.

My last bit of travel advice. Don't do ship excursions. Plan your own!! I watched the masses today and me, personally found it painful. There were likely 40 persons in each ship excursion. Here's their experience: wait, wait, wait, your photo. Now, wait, wait, wait. Ugh. I'd find that painful!

I took a pic to try to help discourage you.

 

And at the dolphin experience, there were 18 in each group. The girls did a dolphin swim in Roatan last summer, Anthony's Key. Amazing place, highly recommend it. There were three in their group. Not 18!!! Totally different experience.

Hey. I researched each port and decided in advance what we were going to do. Soooo glad we did private tours. I'm not a mass-sharing type. I like to ebb and flow. In Jamaica we changed from beach to Patties based on sun burns. Can't do that on a group tour. Loved chankanaab alone. Much flexibility coming and going. But we did have a plan.

They sell this on the ship, and it is great for sunburns. They will have it in the RP store near the head or in the store on the boardwalk by the arcade. It has given us relieve when it is regretfully needed.
