Central Park balcony - Eat/Drink/Play

Recommended Posts

The friends we are crusing with had booked a Central Park balcony in 2016. Then in January 2018 he removed 1 person from the cabin and had to change to a different cabin for 2 people. I'm unclear if he was forced to cancel his old booking and make a new one, or if his old booking was modified. I'm not sure he really knows.

It was my understanding under his original booking he would receive 2 free lunch vouchers good at Johnny Rocket's, Giovanni's Table or Sabor; plus a complimentary bottle of wine.

Was that a time-limited booking deal? If he ended up with a new reservation in January 2018, does he still get that?

Does Royal offer something in lieu of the bottle of wine for those who don't drink? He's hoping maybe Guest Services will replace the bottle of wine for a coke/pop package instead.

This is just part of the sailing, and everybody in one of those rooms should get it.

The soda package is for boardwalk balconies, not Central Park. The promo is still active but no substitutions allowed. It is now called Dine, Drink, Discover

Park view gets lunch for two at Sabor, Giovanni, or Jaime's, bottle of red wine, and private casino lessons. Boardwalk gets a meal at Johnny Rockets, soda package, and rock climbing wall private session

Of course he can give it away. :D

No doubt he can give the wine away. If he checks on his cruise’s roll call he might even find their is a wine drinker who does not drink soda staying in a boardwalk cabin who will gleefully take that that bottle of wine, perhaps while leaving his unused soda cup (or maybe two) on the table. Of course, he can’t leave the soda emblem from is card on the table, just the cup.

Is this standard across all the neighbourhood cabins? It does not show on the British website, and my travel agent didn’t mention it. If it’s a perk for Americans only that would be annoying. It’s bad enough as it is that we can’t change our booking if the fare drops!!!!

As far as I have read. it's for anyone who has booked a neighborhood balcony stateroom.

My mother was a wise woman. "Don't borrow trouble."

Wait until there is actually something to complain about. This is not it.

Everyone who books a Central Park or Boardwalk Balcony cabin will receive the perks. You are not being cheated out of anything.

I am not normally one to complain, we have purchased a drinks package and can take the lunch either way. It’s just principle. The perks for UK booking changed to free drinks package 2 days after we booked, and they would not let us switch from the one voom code we got as a perk when booked. That’s quite a difference considering the fare price did not change!

Just getting frustrated that things are going wrong and I’ve not set sail yet! I got an email the other day to say my excursion in Palma has been cancelled due to bad weather, but I don’t sail until mid May!

It will be my boyfriends first ever cruise, and my first time back with RCI after a not so great first impression when I sailed on Adventure. So I am really wanting things to go to plan!

That would be brilliant. :D He's not on Cruise Critic so I'll go take stroll over there and see what I find.

Take the bottle of wine to share at dinner. Have taken wine many times to MDR and have never been charged a corkage fee..

True, that is an option. My dad likes red wine. My husband might have a glass.

Hmm.. how many people are seated at tables? Is 6 the limit or could we be at a table with 8 or 10?

Tables go up to 12 but they usually put larger groups on those. Biggest I have been seated at was 8.

I have been seated (randomly) at a table for 10. :)
