Using NCL Journeys Hotel Credit

I am booked on a cruise that is classified as a Distinctive Journey which means I get $100 hotel credit. Does anyone know if NCL also has discounted rates negotiated with the hotels they partner with?

My cruise is out of NYC and no way is $100 going to cover the cost of a hotel there!

I have the same offer on a Europe cruise. I did book via NCL and received a 50.00 pp (2) credit on the hotel. I did some 'dummy bookings' at the same hotel and others in the area and came up with a conclusion that NCL was a better bang for my buck. I agree with NYC, different ball game, but do some homework and dummy book some rooms, see what rate you get. Also, call NCL and see what hotels they utilize in NYC.

The problem we had with the offer, there were limited hotels we could use when leaving out of Boston next month. We ended up or I should say our TA ended up booking us without using our $75 voucher. I have heard the company they were working with on the project has been changed since our booking. Hopefully it is working better. As most of us know, you can go on a 7 day cruise for the cost of a few nights in a decent hotel now days. Well, maybe not quite but I cringe when I see hotel prices.
