The Port of Vancouver will be celebrating it's 25th million passenger at Canada Place this May. News articles suggest the honor will go to a HAL ship!

 

Wonder which will be the lucky vessel?

As a Vancouver resident I can tell you that on a busy port day it feels like 25 million passengers down there! And at the airport.

I'm pretty sure it won't get awarded til May 13th. We'll report back what kind of fuss they make for us ;)

I was on the Zaandam for tourist celebration in Juneau, my mom was delayed at we just missed it by a hair. Oh well that was a great trip.

Might depend on the prize, though. A picture in the newspaper by itself would be no big deal.

On a serious note, I'm curious how this is calculated. Is the 25 million counted as cruiser's embark (when the check in at the counter) or disembark? And what about ships that only have Vancouver at the start or end of their trip? Would they count a B2B passenger twice?

 

So many questions!! I think I need more coffee this morning :S
