Casino Minimums

We are new to Celebrity and are planning on going on the Equinox. We enjoy blackjack in the casino and would like to know what the minimums are. Thanks in advance.

On our last cruise the lowest

we ever saw was $10 for blackjack for a very brief time. The majority of the time it was $15. Of course there were tables of $25 that often sat empty.

On our Solstice cruise out of Sydney in Jan the lowest blackjack table minimum we saw was $15.

Their multiple deck table uses 8 decks. Dealer hits soft 17. You can double on any two cards and after splits. You can resplit pairs except for aces. Split aces get one card each. Dealer offers insurance when the up card is an ace. No surrender is offered. Each table usually offers side bet options you can make.

A single deck game is offered with the same rules as above except a natural blackjack pays out 6:5.

The casino does rate your play as part of their casino rewards program.

Minimum really varies by cruise...often starting at $25 the first night and then dropping to $10 or occasionally $15 and sometimes even $5 the second night when they see no one playing. This applies to blackjack, craps and 3 card poker tables. No way to guess what it will be on your cruise.

We sailed on the Equinox several months ago; casino time is one of the things we look forward to on our cruises but I was very disappointed with the casino on the ship.

BJ minimum all week was $15 a hand; 3 card poker minimum was $10 for Pairs Plus, Ante and Play bets respectively. For BJ that was more than I was willing to play per hand since on a cruise, you can burn thru a lot on a 7 day cruise.

I played 3 card once and after a few hands hit 3 of a kind and quit.

What was unfortunate was that at least half of the tables did not have a dealer in attendance all week. I am not sure what the reason for this was and can only assume it's a form of staff cut-back and cost cutting. The casino was rarely active.

I had some decent video poker play and even a few fairly good slot sessions. But overall, Celebrity has taken the fun out of the casino experience.

On Equinox 3/31-4/07

10 min on most Blackjack tables with one 5 dollar single deck table open by the Bar which we played at a lot. Its a 6/5 table but fun anyway.

5 Dollar on Roulette.

10 0n Craps.

Just got back from the Equinox yesterday. I played $10 BJ table every day. There was also a $25 table over by the Cashier. There was a $5 single deck table near the front that was always filled. Didn’t look at the other table games so don’t know the minimums. On the second to last day the daily flyer said the slots had paid out over $1.9 million dollars during the cruise. I found that a little hard to swallow, since even at 20% payout that assumes something like $2.5 million was put into the slots in 6 days.
