OBC via HAL credit cards rewards

We have accumulated rewards points vía usage of HAL credit card. I went to Points Redemption site and didn't find any regular, unattached to any service OBC. I can redeem points for specific services such as $25 for Pinnacle dinner, $50 credit for Beverages or Casino chips, $100 for Shore Excursions, $250 for Thermal Spa use for two and so on. On previous cruises with NCL and RCCL I was able to redeem points accumulated via use of respective cruise line credit card as general OBC. Can anyone who encountered this issue before explain if it possible to redeem points for general OBC? If not, let's say I purchase Shore Excursions and Beverage credit but once on board I want to use it for massage , to pay on board service charges or other charges unrelated to original purchase, can I do that? Thank you. PS: if there is a thread on this specific issue can you please post a link here. Even though there are multiple threads related to OBC , I have searched through but didn't find this specific question covered.

The OBC for Shore-ex will just post to your account as a general credit. It does not have to be used for that.

The casino credit is redeemed for cash at the casino cashier.

You can then apply it to your onboard account at the front office.

The beverage card can be cashed out and applied to your account in the same way.

Thank You. Do you know how do I purchase OBC for HAL? I am booked via TA. Do I call HAL directly or is there a way to do it on-line? ( This would be in addition to redeeming above mentioned points through credit card rewards).

You can purchase OBC on the website under indulgences (at least the old one), or by calling ships services.

on the website -

log in, go to my reservations, pick the cruise, pick purchase, then gifts & indulgences, then shipboard credit.

The best deal w points is pinnacle grill dinner... worth 2500 points (approx value $25) but would cost $39.

 

You can also use points for credit to your statement to cover your cruise costs. Depending on how many points you have - it might be a better value. Once you have more than 40,000 - you redeem at a higher rate... ie 40,000 = $500 statement credit.... again better than $.01 per point.

Did Pinnacle go up to $39/pp? I thought it was still $35 on our cruise last month.
