CruisingAlong4Now Posted July 23, 2018 #26 Share Posted July 23, 2018 We never book any cruise that has a 7 day segment. Last cruise was two 14-day segments. More relaxing. We had quite a number of people that sailed the entire 28 day trip. I expect that the world cruise is similar.
RustyRollock Posted July 23, 2018 #27 Share Posted July 23, 2018 We sailed on Encore from Sydney to Singapore with a midway stop in Bali. Each cruise was about 10 day’s duration as I recall and each was as different as night and day in terms of ambiance, demographics, passenger behaviour, you name it. I don’t think it had much to do with the length of either cruise, it’s just luck really.
2SailingNomads Posted July 23, 2018 #28 Share Posted July 23, 2018 Yes every cruise is different: a different mix of people, nationalities, interests, demographics, cliques, etc. To lump people into a particular category based on the number of days they are able to be on-board is simply arrogant thinking IMO. We did a segment of a World Cruise 4 years ago and met many wonderful people some on the whole time others just for 1 or 2 segments, one of whom we just spent a few days with in Vancouver after our Alaska cruise. On a 7 days cruise 2 years ago we met people who we now correspond with almost every day (one of whom is blogging details of their cruise on another thread). One should not judge people by how long they are able to get away at any particular point in their life, they may have aging parents, issues with children, siblings, animals, jobs, etc. that limit the amount of time they can be away.
