ekmmom Posted May 8, 2018 #1 Share Posted May 8, 2018 Daughter will need to be working from approx 1-4 each day on our July cruise and we have the unlimited package. She's planning on working in/just outside the internet cafe they have. She's mostly concerned with speed and buffering. Can anyone give any insight on how it has been lately? Thanks in advance!! ForeOU Posted May 8, 2018 #2 Share Posted May 8, 2018 I was on the Summit in late April and had the unlimited package. We had no problems with service. I didn't actually check the speed, but noticed no issues.
vicd1969 Posted May 8, 2018 #3 Share Posted May 8, 2018 Likewise, in the April 21 sailing I got about 2.50 - 3.0 mbps speed in my deck 2 cabin, may be a bit faster by the iLounge. Using my company VPN was bearable.

BlueLobster Posted May 9, 2018 #5 Share Posted May 9, 2018 Usually it's fine for email, and Microsoft Office type of applications, but if she has video intensive needs, streaming, etc., it may be a little slow.
cmoore5524 Posted May 9, 2018 #6 Share Posted May 9, 2018 I couldn’t get Wi-Fi to perform in my Summit cabin (6120) on April 21st sailing but had no problems getting it in iLounge, Michael’s Club or other public areas.
Rare jean87510 Posted May 9, 2018 #7 Share Posted May 9, 2018 Had the internet package for the 14th and 21st sailing. We were in an inside on the 14th and it was the best I've had on any of my sailings. Able to watch hbo go, netflix, ... easily able to get into and do work as did my husband. On the 21st sailing we had a balcony and we only had difficulty when we went on the balcony a couple of times during sea days where it would shut off. This was near the end of the cruise when they were selling a lot of internet packages so I suspect too many people were online at the same time perhaps. Regardless, 90% of the time, it was perfect and quick. Dont remember the speed.
CruisingChick Posted May 9, 2018 #8 Share Posted May 9, 2018 As for internet in cabins it all depends on where your cabin is located. We have had terrible time connecting in some cabins, can't even get on and others we have had no problem.
Rare jean87510 Posted May 9, 2018 #9 Share Posted May 9, 2018 If she wants to get work done the internet cafe is rarely crowded. Sent from my SM-G955U using Forums mobile app
