I just wanted you to have a comparison.

Just FYI:

I’ve enjoyed cruising in almost every category, from an inside cabin, ocean view, balcony, mini suite spa balcony, aft balcony, up to Haven Spa suite.

I just want to give you information, not judging.

Ok more of Haven: upper lounge deck above courtyard:

View of Gaton Lake. This part of Panama Canal day is very relaxing and beautiful. There are many islands and beautiful green jungle all around. I didn’t get many pics because I think I was charging my phone.

So we are back in Haven observation area when we go under bridge. Look for truck going over. I know this view is not the best vantage point.b07b97d213a0103f794f15a2d0539d1e.jpg

We decided to get into hot tub while starting into the Pacific locks. With a couple of strawberry daiquiris. One of many “Life doesn’t get any better than this” moments:

Panama City in background. I had no idea it was this big or built up. (Time for a separate trip to Panama).

So I still had to get my unlimited internet working, the guy at Internet cafe didn’t help much. Basically he told me to just read the instructions and I got it to work. I had 250 minutes as a perk then I upgraded. I watched majority rules game in Atrium while waiting in line of about 8 people.

Was your 250 minutes of internet a booking perk - or a platinum perk?

Were on the 11/3 Panama Canal sailing - and I’m trying to figure out how much it’s going to be to upgrade our Platinum internet to unlimited and when it’s best to do the upgrade. Thanks!!

Thanks for all the great photos and review! I'm really enjoying them!

On a Panama canal cruise many years ago, before iPhones, my very expensive camera with tons of lenses, purchased just for the trip, broke during the Costa Rica stop so my Canal photos were taken with the disposable panoramic I purchased on board. LOL.

Platinum plus gets 60 minutes and I also got the 250 internet perk. To get unlimited it cost me about $80. I think it is around $30 a day for unlimited. I hope this helps.

Yes - that helps! We too have the 250 minutes as a booking perk + the 60 minutes for Platinum. Sorry - I got my cruise line perks mixed up for a minute. [emoji20]

So where and when was the information available about upgrading to unlimited?? You have to go to the internet desk - or can it be done through the Concierge or just your on board account?

Thanks so much!

Yes I agree with Debbie’s cruising. I upgraded once on board through my device. The 250 minutes came off the top. I got $125 credit. Mike took control of the other 60 minutes. It’s so nice to have unlimited! A necessity for a live review!

The last cruise we did on the Escape I split the unlimited WiFi cost with another cruise critic roll call member. He used it odd hours and I used it even hours. It was perfect!! Hope I can get someone to share with me on my next 3 cruises. Definitely saves me and the other money. I really love to see and post to Facebook and I actually needed it to take advantage of a great cruise trip value. Also, hate to come home to hundreds of emails to catch up on.

We watched a guy juggle a soccer ball on top of one of the lock gates. He was good.e7f1780b787158c476f1e25d48d12ba1.jpg

Went to Casino for a bit.

Amir (Haven bar) made an amazing cocktail including an egg white, not sure what it was but it was outstanding!

Haven for dinner:

I had sea bass, Mike had mushroom ravioli. (No pics of ravioli). Both were great!

Ok Panama Canal day in the books!

It was a great day!

The ships go through the locks at a painfully slow pace. It is exciting and I was glad to move around the ship to get so many different vantage points. They do open the bow for viewing but we never went down there, (probably should have as that doesn’t happen on regular cruises).

Next I’ll take pics of Panama Canal handout:
