Beverages ordered for room

Recommended Posts

I’d like opinions from Carnival cruisers who may have purchased canned soda, canned beer, and bottled water to be delivered to room on first day. It said on their site that you are not allowed to take these beverages from your cabin. Is this actually enforced, because I ordered it so we could easily bring bottled water ashore or up on deck, and same with the beer and soda. We do not purchase the drink package and thought this may be cheaper. But not if we have nowhere to enjoy it! It’s not like we have a balcony to sit out on, as we are in an inside cabin, and the last couple inside cabins I’ve had didn’t even have a chair to sit on. So, I just want to know if others have dealt with this issue, and how much is it enforced? What would they do, take them away from us?

I take it out of the room all the time.

We never had a problem taking the water or soda anywhere on the ship. My guess is they are talking about the bottles of liquor. That would look awful seeing people with bottles of liquor walking around the ship. We have never taken the soda off the ship, just the water bottles.

No liquor bought. Only canned beer and soda, and bottled water. What would happen if my hubby takes a can of beer from the room to the pool deck? I only drink cocktails and glasses of wine, but probably have never gone over 3 drinks in a whole day, so drink package just not worth it to us.

i always order liquor for the room. I bring my Tervis tumblers, mix our drinks and go wherever we want. I can go back to room for another, or get one from the bar to add to my glass. Never any issues. See more and more people walking around the ship with their Yetis or other types. I don't think you'll have a problem with it.

So, we should pour our soda and beer in yeti cups to walk around? Not the cans? We don’t drink liquor—at least the hubby doesn’t, and I only like the bar mixed and frozen drinks, so I won’t be doing that in room. Only canned beer and soda.

Your soda, beer & water can be carried as is around the ship. They do not want you carrying around a bottle of wine or liquor. We found that our 750ml bottle of wine can easily be poured into the 2 glasses provided in the cabin. Then, we just go wherever we like with them. Our neighbor ordered liquor for the cabin & he just made his drinks in his yeti and away he went. No problems whatsoever.

The beer they sell in the bars is the same beer you can buy for the cabin, so how will anyone know where he got it? As others have stated this is not enforced. We always buy a bottle of liquor for the cabin and I fill up a hip flask to take with us to shows, etc.

There was a group of 4 guys in the casino playing craps on the Valor drinking straight out of the wine/champagne bottles... couldn't believe it... no one ever said a word to them...

There's rule about not drinking straight out of a bottle?:')

LoL only the rules of society, because if you drink straight from the bottle you must be a wino/drunk:o:o. However, if you go to the bar at 11am and drink 15+ in a few hours, it is socially acceptable if you drink it out of the proper glass.:') Also it is hog wash if Carnival does not allowed this because it doesn't look for the cruise line, because they are already known for being the "Booze Cruise".

The casino wants them to be drunk. So I'm sure the casino employees aren't going to say anything unless they started causing a commotion or they got complaints from others. Wouldn't recommend traveling the ship drinking out of the wine bottles though, might get told to pour it in a glass anywhere except the casino.

At least they are in the casino where young eyes have less chance seeing them.:D

I don't drink enough to come close to the 15 drinks a day package. I order a bottle for my room and then mix my drinks and take in an Rtic tumbler . Have taken to the pool area, casino, comedy shows ...etc(on several cruises). Have never had anyone ask or say anything.
