greenmountaineer Posted May 25, 2018 #1 Share Posted May 25, 2018 We are sailing in and out of Seattle to Alaska on the Riviera on August 27. We are looking for a hotel near the cruise terminal in Seattle. Any ideas?

alaskaca Posted May 25, 2018 #3 Share Posted May 25, 2018 I’m fairly certain you’re sailing on the Regatta and not the Riviera, and she departs from Pier 66. In 2016 we stayed at the Seattle Marriott Waterfront on Alaskan Way and were pleased with the accommodations and location. It is an easy walk to the cruise terminal as well as several Seattle tourist destinations.
Rare ronrick1943 Posted May 25, 2018 #4 Share Posted May 25, 2018 You really can't go wrong with a Marriott, you always know what to except when you arrive.

Glaciers Posted May 26, 2018 #6 Share Posted May 26, 2018 The Marriott or The Edgewater are the most convenient to the cruise terminal and on the waterfront. Both nice if you’re only there for an overnight. Both can become inconvenient if staying there longer as many of the sights are up a good size hill. There is an elevator but it’s easier just to stay in the downtown core area. Both the Fairmont and the Inn at the Market are exceptional properties. SeaBands Posted May 27, 2018 #7 Share Posted May 27, 2018 We always stay at the Grand Hyatt, Short cab ride to the pier.
Sny Posted May 27, 2018 #8 Share Posted May 27, 2018 Olympic, for sure. Magnificent hotel with wonderful service and amenities. Very short taxi ride to Pier 66.
Rare GeezerCouple Posted May 27, 2018 #9 Share Posted May 27, 2018 Olympic, for sure. Magnificent hotel with wonderful service and amenities. Very short taxi ride to Pier 66. The Fairmont Olympic is the Grand Dame hotel in Seattle. It's lobby is beautiful, old world elegance. (It changed hands about 10 years ago, when it was a Four Seasons property. The location of the new Four Seasons isn't as nice, and it's a modern high-rise type hotel.) And it has a great location, right near "downtown", walking distance to most things in that area, including Pike Place Market. However, for those who prefer modern, minimalist style, this might not be the best match. GC
WarEagle76 Posted May 28, 2018 #10 Share Posted May 28, 2018 We stayed at the Marriott Waterfront 10 years ago on an independent trip. Here are a couple of pictures we took from the ferry. If you look at the second picture, if using the dock pictured, it’s right across the street (hotel is building with green windows). From the hotel, we also easily walked (uphill going) to Pike Place Market. Sent from my iPad using Forums
minirottie Posted June 4, 2018 #11 Share Posted June 4, 2018 We're sailing Regatta at the end of the month and have booked the Pan Pacific. We've stayed at the Vancouver one when sailing and have had excellent stays, so figured Seattle would be good, and relatively convenient (plus in a great location in town for us to go out and about on Thursday)
Rare JoePDX Posted June 5, 2018 #12 Share Posted June 5, 2018 Agree with all the suggestions for the Fairmont Olympic. Also recommend the Hotel 1000 - modern with a great restaurant. Inn at the Market is adjacent Pike Place Market and is currently #1 on Trip Advisor. Joe
amusea Posted June 5, 2018 #13 Share Posted June 5, 2018 We're sailing Regatta at the end of the month and have booked the Pan Pacific. We've stayed at the Vancouver one when sailing and have had excellent stays, so figured Seattle would be good, and relatively convenient (plus in a great location in town for us to go out and about on Thursday) We have stayed at the Seattle Pan Pacific and the hotel and its rooms are modern, sleek and ultra comfortable with beautiful baths. Getting to the pier is so easy with a taxi that I don't think that staying very near the pier is a must. Next month we have decided to try the recently opened (Dec. 2017) Marriott Residence Inn on Terry Avenue which is only a few blocks from the Westlake Center. The rooms are actually mini-apartments measuring a little over 400 square feet and include a complete kitchen. Breakfast is included in the price of the room. If you are interested just make sure that you do not opt for the other Residence Inn near Lake Union which is farther away from the center of town.
