A double for $3 more? Any other drink discounts?

We get the Cheers package for the shorter cruises that we sail on but, for us, it loses its value on a longer cruise. So we will be paying as we go when we sail this week.

I’m hoping to confirm that Carnival still offers a double shot for $3 more.

Are there any other available discounts on drinks?

Thanks.

Hi

Purchasing a bottle or two for your cabin would save you some. Bring on your own soda for mix, or whatever they have on board.

If you enjoy wine, there are wine packages available, as well as being allowed to bring one bottle of wine per adult on board at embarkation. Also you can get 1/2 price wine in the steak house if you book for the first night.

If you are a beer drinker, I believe you can save a few dollars by purchasing buckets of beer.

They usually have a $1 discount for their drink of the day, but if you purchased a bottle for your cabin you would be much better off.

Of course if you are big gambler, you might qualify for the "drinks on us" card, but that is only good in the casino, and it might cost more than the drinks are worth. :)

hope this helps

have a great cruise

Very helpful! Thanks :).

We have done the bottle to the room before. I think we will skip it this time as we realized we like a variety of drinks.

Today, I went and bought our wine to carry on and we do have steakhouse reservations the first night!

Follow-Up Question: I have Cheers in my upcoming cruise. As far as double-shots for $3.00 are concerned...

Cheers pays for the basic drink, no extras... I know that. Can I pay $3 extra (off S&S) for the double, and not have it affect my Cheers count? I know it is more economical to wait five minutes, order a shot off Cheers, and dump it in, but I am curious.

In my experience I usually tip an extra dollar or two for my cheers drinks, and automatically get doubles. ;p This especially includes the waiters walking around Lido. Once they know me and my cruising buddy, they are very generous with the pours and sometimes even keep them coming automatically.

This was our experience as well, by the end of the week, I could barely taste any mixers! :')

I saw someone post the bar menu, they have fish bowl cocktail, I'm not sure how many oz, but the price is $19.95. Or a pitcher of sangria for $31, if anyone tried it before please let me know, I can't get cheer, my husband only love soda, but my sister and I would love to drink cocktails.

Thought I saw a while ago they were doing happy hour for like half price fish bowls is that still around?

Yeah, the Red Frog Pub on the Miracle had a happy hour some days, and I want to say there was some kind of fish bowl promotion.

I will be looking into this! I’m not sure the cheers package would be economical for us. So if we get on board and like day 2 into the cruise decide we want the cheers package can we get it then ? Is it just something you have to get from the start ?

Well, you can buy it I think up until the 2nd day, but the per day price increases by $5.

We have done both pay as you go and just did Cheers for the first time last month. Pay as you go, we managed to come in at roughly about $750 or so on a 7 day for beverages and that was averaging around 5 to 6 drinks a day each, plus after a couple days we couldn't do the included "coffee" any more and started getting the specialty coffee that is MUCH better. Throw in some bottled water (we drink a lot of water) and a few sodas...it added up quick.

So, Cheers was $836.40, and yes we could have come out cheaper, but trying to make sure we didn't run up a huge tab, made us feel limited. So, for abound $80 bucks more, we feel we got a good deal and knew from the get go how much our bar tab would be and could just drink whatever and no worries. That was well worth the extra $80.
