Is there a cost to use the fitness center?

Not unless you take a class that has a fee or book time with a trainer. To come in and use the equipment, weights, etc., no charge.

Some stretching classes are free, others are $12 + gratuity. You can pick up a schedule with prices at the fitness center.

The fitness center is rather nice and generally not too crowded with treadmills (most popular), bicycles, exercise machines and free weights. All but the newest ships (royal etc) have bathroom facilities with showers, steam room and hot sauna - all free.

The royal, regal, majestic all have showers in the locker room IN the fitness center. Just no steam rooms.

Very true on the showers. However the hot sauna and steam room are not there but rather in the paid to use spa area. Princess separated the exercise area from the spa area in the new design.
