GOLFER1234 Posted June 11, 2018 #1 Share Posted June 11, 2018 Hi, I am thinking about ordering some magnetic hooks on Amazon for my upcoming cruise in two weeks. Are Allure's walls magnetic? Are the hooks worth taking? I've cruised a few times before and never had an issue but thinking now they may be of some value. I am fairly sure there is a clothes line in the shower as on Liberty but can someone please let me know? Thanks!!

I have some strong hook magnets that I hung my bathing suit to dry. Loved having them. Sent from my SM-G950U using Forums mobile app
soccerdad72 Posted June 11, 2018 #3 Share Posted June 11, 2018 I'm pretty sure all cruise ship walls are magnetic, as the ships are all metal.

chengkp75 Posted June 11, 2018 #5 Share Posted June 11, 2018 I'm pretty sure all cruise ship walls are magnetic, as the ships are all metal. Lots of "metals" are not magnetic: copper, bronze, aluminum, zinc, cupro-nickel, some stainless steels, and alloys of these metals to name just a few that are used in shipbuilding. Also, cabin walls tend to be covered with a vinyl "wall covering" that can be thick or thin depending on the cruise line and ship (who was contracted to build the wall panels) that may cause cheap magnets not to work. ATSEAMYLIFE Posted June 11, 2018 #6 Share Posted June 11, 2018 I took a few when we did Allure and Oasis. There were several places I couldn't get them to stick. If it were me I would take the suction cup hooks vs magnetic.
Merion_Mom Posted June 11, 2018 #7 Share Posted June 11, 2018 I have been on most of the ships, and I have used magnets successfully on all.
IrishLassie Posted June 11, 2018 #8 Share Posted June 11, 2018 I always take mine & I bought mine at Home Depot. Make sure you get one that will hold whatever it is you want to hang on them. Mine holds up to 50 lbs. I have used them on every ship we've been on for the last 10 yrs.
