I told them their Sea of Cortez itinerary (for which I am booked) shows La Paz/Pinchelingue as being below Puerto Vallarta...a big mistake, and makes HAL look foolish.

What date ?? This I have to see !

Walk with your feet (and dollars) if you’re not satisfied. That’s Capitalism at its best! Trust me, if enough people “walk”, they will either make changes or go out of business. It’s the American way! [emoji106]

We have. Our next cruise after luckily falling into our upcoming Maasdam InDepth cruise this September ..on the old Website .... will be on Voyages to Antiquity. Smaller ship, high enrichment and unique itinerary - just the opposite of the way the new HAL is going. And hopefully they will have dinner plates with rims on them so the knife does not fall into the sauce.

I not yet been able to figure out how to explore the new website looking for the special and unique HAL cruises we have enjoyed so much in the past that have added up to almost 500 days. We don't take the routine itinerary ones. It was always the ease of exploration on the old website that led to our next and often highly unique HAL cruises.

I could not even find the upcoming Voyage of the Vikings choices on either the old or new websites. That is crazy.

We also vote with our feet and with our wallets. Cannot see anything positive in sticking with a vendor, a cruise line etc. if we are not happy or if their product turns out to be less than promised. We are creatures of habit, but sticking with a poorly performing vendor or one that does not live up to the expectations set is not one of those habits.

Yup, that's what I'm hearing, too. Oh well, it was a good run while it lasted, wasn't it?:)

INDeed...........

Lots of fun

But, Where did T HAT H A L go?

Who took their logo, their style, ran off when we weren't watching and left behind a shadow o f it's former self? Where did this imitation HAL come from?

Please give us back the logo and bring back the best of HAL some of us were so lucky to experience and are not yet ready to lose.

Yes, well, I don't give a crap anymore. Philosophize away about the trends of the fleeting moment. When one is far from the fray in a corporate office, it's easy to discount the human cost.
Except, of course, if that cost is imagined.

Agreed. I do appreciate the source of the reluctance though: All the other cruise lines at the same price point are doing the same kind of things and the only way to get what folks want is to spend more than these mainstream cruise lines charge.

I commented on both the farce of the "O" programs on my last cruise, and a direct hit on the farce of honoring Denella Richard as an upcoming HAL "communications" specialist listed in your link. Did you miss them? Or perhaps they were removed from this website.
Perhaps. Though it could have been either. I don't see your posts very much anymore. Regardless, I apologize if I missed your missive besmirching "O" and Ri'chard. I did find this morning your complaints in response to Oprah being named godmother of the Nieuw Statendam, which is of course another clear indication of the cruise line aiming to satisfy a set of customers from which you've chosen to exclude yourself.

You’re right on point there that there aren’t any better options at the same price point. Maybe Celebrity. But they have an awful website too, so there’s still that issue! 🤣🤣

Just as soon as you and all those who agree with your preferences refrain from commenting about what you claim "passengers" want.

Two persons equals "passengers". Let the word wars continue.

Let the word wars continue.
That's your decision but understand that that decision is the source of the "argument".

Regardless, things are changing. Ten years ago no one who shared my insights would stick around more than a few weeks when confronted by the typical browbeating from traditionalists. Now, there are several folks who have stuck around regardless. And as the cruise line grows further into serving those passengers they will become more present in the forum.

There are posters, generally newer folks, who don't know why your posts are the way they are, and as a result they post rude comments directed at your posts. I choose a different approach with regard to helping newer folks join the discussion. Both approaches are equally valid.

Original topic is pretty clear and nicely comprehensive: "For folks interested in what CCL intends in terms of how it presents its cruise lines, including Holland America,........"

Good thing you’re so smart and never need assistance. (“Pretty clear and comprehensive”) ... the type of response that implies I’m stupid. Sorry it seemed to be such a chore for you to help me out.
