cyberbeet Posted June 14, 2018 #1 Share Posted June 14, 2018 We will be in the Captain's Suite on the Carnival Splendor. Just wondering if you get escorted to your cabin, fresh flowers/fruit basket waiting for you in room, etc. Thx
1bellamarie Posted June 14, 2018 #2 Share Posted June 14, 2018 We'll be in a CS on the Splendor, too! I don't believe there are any extra perks-other than space. I'm sure more experienced folks will have more info, however!
Rare Petroplex Posted June 14, 2018 #3 Share Posted June 14, 2018 We will be in the Captain's Suite on the Carnival Splendor.Just wondering if you get escorted to your cabin, fresh flowers/fruit basket waiting for you in room, etc. Thx I can't speak directly to your question. However, I just had a couple of friends sail in the Owner's Suite on the Carnival Fascination. They did get a number of perks which are not part of the standard program for Carnival suites. I believe they have posted/will post more details about their perks at the link above.
suzbcruiser Posted June 15, 2018 #4 Share Posted June 15, 2018 We had the Captain’s Suite a few years back. I recall we received a bottle of wine and a small fruit basket. We also received many “gift cards” to the spa and the art auction/gallery in the hopes of us spending more money. You don’t get escorted to the Captain’s Suite. For the amount of money spent, the perks were definitely lacking. With that being said, I would book it again just for the balcony and the views alone. Not to mention having my family of 5 in the same cabin. Sent from my iPhone using Forums

cruzkitty Posted June 18, 2018 #8 Share Posted June 18, 2018 You get to bypass the Embark lines with a Suite! A couple bottles of water, and one free bag of laundry. It's really all about the extra space and Balcony. Enjoy your cruise!
TEXASMUNK Posted June 18, 2018 #9 Share Posted June 18, 2018 you get a separate waiting room prior to boarding, often so crowded there is no seating available. you get to board early. you get.....opps that's it. You also get first shot at disembarkation, if you can fight your way to the gangway after Carnival begs folks to not jam up the stairwell (which everyone ignores). It's really all about the extra space and Balcony. Enjoy your cruise! This alone was worth it for me. Got to our port and heard a porter telling the guy in front of me that the wait from here was around 2 hours. Gave him our bags afterwards and headed to the priority line, nobody was waiting there. Headed to the little room with the seats to get our cards - we were only ones there, then got on the ship. Was fantastic. We also got priority disembarkation. We did the one where you put the bags out in the hall. Then in the morning waited in the theater and someone escorted us down as a group, held the elevator just for us and we were off pretty fast. I know fttf gives you the same but it didn't give me a balcony so suite was worth it.
TrinaLC Posted June 19, 2018 #11 Share Posted June 19, 2018 Carnival fails miserably with respect to suite perks; mostly just extra real estate.
JimAOk1945 Posted June 19, 2018 #12 Share Posted June 19, 2018 We enjoyed being in the Penthouse Suite on the Carnival Ecstasy a few years ago. It was a fantastic experience!! The suite perks are not as good as other cruise lines we have been on, but the experience on the Ecstasy worth it for celebrating our anniversary. Pictures of that suite and cruise are on my wife's website at the link below my signature. Happy Travels wherever you go next. JimAOk1945 Posted June 19, 2018 #15 Share Posted June 19, 2018 It was fantastic. There were wall to wall/floor to ceiling windows in the living room and bedroom overlooking the Lido deck. The dressing room and walk in closet were spacious. The bathroom was huge. A memorable cruise even without the special perks of the other cruise lines we have been on. Sent from my iPhone using Forums when you compare carnival suite with other cruise lines-- carnival is always cheaper by quite a few $$ you get priorty check in-- not instant access to your cabin (Unless you buy FTTF) Some suites do not accomadate 5 people depends on the ship Older ships are grandfathered in and allows for roll aways

ryarger Posted July 2, 2018 #23 Share Posted July 2, 2018 Most likely we will put them down at night - but why? This is standard for cabins with front-facing windows on all lines. The light from the cabin can reflect up the bridge and distract the crew from seeing what’s in front of the ship when it’s dark. NavarreCruiser Posted July 3, 2018 #24 Share Posted July 3, 2018 Carnival fails miserably with respect to suite perks; mostly just extra real estate. I don't stay in suites so I also don't check their prices. Many people express the same opinion as you do. Because Carnival offers less do Carnival's suites have less of an upcharge than competitors compared to non-suite prices?

I have had friends stay in those cabins and it is mandatory that they remain closed at all times at night so that when your cabin lights are on it doesn’t interfere with the navigational bridge. I even remember hearing once when someone had their shades open they got a phone call or visit from a crew member telling them to close the blinds. We have stayed in a Family Veranda cabin twice on Celebrity and were told by the RS to keep the shades closed which was fine because it’s so dark there’s really nothing to see anyway.
