Rare APDMOM Posted June 24, 2018 Author #76 Share Posted June 24, 2018 Ironically, we were docked just 3 hours from our Florida home. We decided to stay on the ship to enjoy the “quiet” pool and slides. Unfortunately, the slides were not open for a majority of the time while we were in port. Though that was disappointing, we still found plenty to do. A LOT of people had the same idea as us, and the pools remained crowded today. So, we enjoyed the slides a bit, played mini-golf, and watched the water life from our balcony. I am getting way ahead of myself though... We docked around noon, so here is the start of my day view: Without further ado... the pictures of our corner aft (7688): What is not to love? I actually got about an hour of sun to lay out on the balcony today:
Rare APDMOM Posted June 25, 2018 Author #77 Share Posted June 25, 2018 This is a regular balcony room (Category 7D). On the deck plans it is shown as a balcony with obstructed view, but I find the superstructure to be no distraction, and the side view is unobstructed. Inside, it looks like any regular balcony cabin. Here are a few pictures and tips for newcomers: Third person bed: There is hidden storage behind the mirrors in both the bedroom and bathroom
KiwiGal117 Posted June 25, 2018 #78 Share Posted June 25, 2018 So happy to see another of your cruise reviews APDMOM! My husband and I also have 1 son - around the same age I think. So I always take notes and find your tips to be so helpful! We are on Symphony next. No particular plans for Adventure at New England - but it’s all on a bucket list! Rare APDMOM Posted June 25, 2018 Author #79 Share Posted June 25, 2018 A few more cabin pictures: The tissues are now kept in a drawer in the room... overheard a couple of people complain that they did not have nay, but they just don’t keep them in the bathroom anymore: I love the pattern on the backsplash on Adventure [emoji846]

Rare APDMOM Posted June 25, 2018 Author #82 Share Posted June 25, 2018 A little bit of a ship tour... As promised, the Starbucks prices at the Promenade Cafe: The coffee cards are currently on sale for $31 on the ship. You will therefore save about $1.18 if you purchase in advance (factoring gratuity in): Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
Rare APDMOM Posted June 25, 2018 Author #83 Share Posted June 25, 2018 (edited) Windjammer: I love how open and bright this Windjammer is: We found out that they change the flag based upon the meals they serve at night in the Windjammer. First night was American: We are finding some great desserts in the Windjammer. They have a crêpe station - not sure if it is every night - where we headed after dinner last night: Edited June 25, 2018 by APDMOM
Rare APDMOM Posted June 25, 2018 Author #84 Share Posted June 25, 2018 (edited) Our breakfast included some great banana smoothies from the Windjammer and fresh fruit. One disappointment is thaft they don’t have the All Bran Flakes that they had on other recent cruises. On this ship, they have cereal dispensers like you find in budget hotels. We did find some Raisin Bran that you scoop with a spoon by the fresh fruit. All in all, they have an excellent variety of options for other breakfast foods. We hit the slides right when they opened, and though the lines were somewhat long, the wait was only about 5 to 10 minutes. Tip: Jump into the pool before heading toward the slides. That tube structure around the stairs gets hot and there is no ventilation... It is a bit cooler with wet swimwear. Rare APDMOM Posted June 25, 2018 Author #85 Share Posted June 25, 2018 One of the things I love about a balcony (as well as my husband’s eagle eyes) is the ability to see wild life in the ocean. We spotted a sea turtle surface (too slow with my camera), several fish, and some dolphins. We also saw this mysterious ink spot appear and spread like crazy! Then, two more appeared the same way. Maybe some kind of defense mechanism for some sea creature? Rare APDMOM Posted June 25, 2018 Author #87 Share Posted June 25, 2018 We love this mini-golf course. Unfortunately, it was quite busy, but we managed to complete our game Mr. Bean style! I got only one hole on par... we shall not mention my score. At least I did better than Mr Bean [emoji23]
Rare APDMOM Posted June 25, 2018 Author #88 Share Posted June 25, 2018 We ended our day with the excellent tunes/oldies performed by Elevation in Boleros. Absolutely love their style! I will try to post some video clips later this week. With that, I wish you a good night at the end of this third day of Week 1... Tin can Posted June 25, 2018 #91 Share Posted June 25, 2018 I notice the Windjammer appears to have themes every night. I've seen themes before but not every night and they weren't very good so I was wondering what they are like on your cruise. It looks like day 3 is Italian and we love Italian food so maybe you saw a couple of dishes similar to Giovannis on offer :):):) Loving your review, thank you! Cruisewed18 Posted June 25, 2018 #95 Share Posted June 25, 2018 Wow thanks for the pics! It’s fantastic you’re doing this. I have a small request- if you find yourself in the Viking crown lounge, I would love to see some pictures! I will be getting married in there in October, and still trying to figure out how the layout will work for about 40-45 people. TIA! Huntal Posted June 25, 2018 #99 Share Posted June 25, 2018 So looking forward to my first ever cruise in March next year - so your photos and info is just excellent - thank you for taking the time! I need to keep in touch while I am away but I do not really want the full Wi-Fi package - does the internet cafe have the facility to log on and pay per minute etc? Otherwise - keep it up - love seeing it all - too excited now!
Clarea Posted June 25, 2018 #100 Share Posted June 25, 2018 ... does the internet cafe have the facility to log on and pay per minute etc? ... No per minute rates at all. The minimum you can purchase is one continuous 24-hour period.
