Rare LMaxwell Posted July 4, 2018 #1 Share Posted July 4, 2018 Excursions discounted today via email; $28 for adult, free for my 3 year old. Could be fun. Looking for reviews of the glass bottom boat tour in Nassau. We went to the pirate museum last trip. Also considering the Zoo. Any other suggestions to do with a 3 year old? cb at sea Posted July 4, 2018 #3 Share Posted July 4, 2018 We did it....wouldn't do it again. You are inside, in the bottom of the boat in order to see thru the glass....it was so HOT down there. I spend most of my time on deck, just taking in the scenery with some rum punch. It was to hot and stuffy inside the boat. And that was BEFORE menopause hit!!!! Auburn1Cruiser Posted July 5, 2018 #4 Share Posted July 5, 2018 We did it. It wasn't our favorite but it isn't the worst option either. If you are just looking for something inexpensive to do just to get off the boat, it is a fun couple of hours. It is HOT in the bottom of the boat where you have to go in order to view the glass. We spent more time on the deck just looking at houses. But for us we were just wanting to get off the boat for a couple of hours and do something with our kids. They thought it was cool and didn't really care about how hot it was.
wolfcathorse Posted July 5, 2018 #5 Share Posted July 5, 2018 we did it in Nassau. You don't see anything until the boat stops. Very little variety, saw the same kind of fish as snorkeling on CocoCay. As others mentioned, it's cramped and hot in the belly of the boat and the flash on your camera/cell phone will just reflect off the glass. Booth44 Posted July 5, 2018 #6 Share Posted July 5, 2018 We've done the glass bottom boat in Nassau twice. The second time only because we had completely forgotten our first visit right up until the guide started talking (he has a very distinctive voice). Highlight of the trip is cruising past all the fancy mansions on Paradise Island, and the guide telling everyone which celebrities own/owned which houses. As others have said, looking through the glass bottom is underwhelming at best. Hot, cramped, crowded. Very good rum punch, though.
shetex Posted July 6, 2018 #7 Share Posted July 6, 2018 I did glass bottom in Coco Cay. Zoo is wonderful How was the CocoCay one?
Getting out there Posted July 6, 2018 #8 Share Posted July 6, 2018 Coco Cay everyone sat on the boat. The middle was cut out and filled with glass. There was a railing and you looked down. I got motion sickness, but the 2 doing the excursion was very kind. One drove the boat and one snorkled down and brought things up to touch. Highly recommend.
