New tips for this experienced cruiser.

TrinaLC is right. I just meant bring up the rear. I would never hold anyone up. I know it’s a manditory maritime law, but I’ve been on ships where you get to stay in the comfy AC. If I have to be outside with 2500 other sweaty, semi drunk people, I would rather be in the front row with a little fresh air.

I got so darn hot, red, and and sun blistered standing outside for muster, in direct afternoon sun, while muster instructions were laboriously translated into German and Spanish (big tour groups on board) that a Muster Helper pulled me out of line and escorted me to the area where those on scooters and walkers muster. I must have looked so bad it scared him!

Don't know if this has been mentioned, but I head for the laundry room the first day on the ship with my packed shirts and khakis. I place them in the dryer with a wet washcloth and a dryer sheet. They come out wrinkle free in about 15 minutes.

Great idea! I tend to pack stuff that doesn't wrinkle (or just don't care), but I know 'how to deal with wrinkles' gets brought up on other threads.

Omg! Not trying to be sarcastic, but I can think of far better things to do as soon as I board a ship on day one! As a matter of fact, I don’t think laundry EVER crosses my mind on a cruise! Lol!

I didn't read it as she does it first thing, just first day. While I do usually get a drink before unpacking, I don't really feel "on vacation" until everything is unpacked (and after muster). If I were concerned about wrinkles this would be an easy fix while unpacking everything else before muster;)

When I was on the Splendor or Inspiration (can't remember which one) this past year, the s&s cards were in the mail boxes. I noticed the priority cabin cards were there, but not the non-priority cabins. The non-priority cards were in the boxes just before 1:30 and the cabin doors were closed. There was no way to get into your cabin unless the cabin steward was still cleaning the cabin.

I was talking to my room steward on Magic last month and he said he likes the new process of getting keys at the room because it keeps people from entering the room early, which makes his job easier. He doesn't put out the room keys until 1:30 PM, except for the rooms that have priority (D&Ps, FTTF, etc.).

Take a picture of your State room door and set it as a wallpaper on your iPhone. That way if you lose your phone while on the ship it can be returned to you very easily. I suppose you could also take a picture of your sail & Sign card. Just be sure to cover up the folio number

I always considered that a sure sign of chair hogging . Could be because all the ones I have seen like that there wasn't a body occupying the lounger ;p

But I can't be in the chair 100% of the time .... sometimes I have to go to the rest room or jump in the pool or get a drink. That is not hogging.

To me, clogging is an hour or more of not being in the chair. I am all for Carnival having someone come though and mark unoccupied chairs. No worries for someone who is actually near by.

I've never been to the steakhouse for dinner, but I was told there is a bar in there that anyone can use. I imagine it's a nice quiet spot for a drink. Does anyone know if their wine list is the same as the rest of ship or do they have some specialty wines. I would love to maximize my cheers value!

Yes, the steakhouse bar is a great spot for a drink, especially with Cheers!! My husband and I both had a $40 bourbon. I can’t drink it straight so had them make an Old Fashioned with it. They also have a few more expensive wines to try. We are vegetarian so have never eaten in the Steakhouse but love to visit it for an after dinner cocktail. In our experience the bartender was never busy and always happy to see us.
