Mrs.Gosse Posted July 14, 2018 #51 Share Posted July 14, 2018 You really don't need to have 15 drinks a day to make this pay off - a glass of wine with lunch, 2 cocktails before dinner, 2 glasses of wine with dinner - perhaps am after dinner drink, 2-3 cocktails for shows or in the casino plus a bunch of waters and some coffees during the day and you are making out great with the package. Since they put on the 15 drink limit I have only come close once to hitting 15 and that was because a new junior waiter in the dinning room put my wives dinner drinks on my card. We explained to the wait staff why not to do that and have never come close again. you're right, that's a very reasonable selection of drinks for a day. I think if you're not a big coffee or water drinker, you might come out in the hole. I however love both of those two things! LOL
Mrs.Gosse Posted July 14, 2018 #52 Share Posted July 14, 2018 It is a common mistake to think that you need to consume 15 (or almost 15) drinks a day to come out ahead on the beverage package. You need to do the math on the average number of drinks you consume daily. For example, if your average drink costs $10, you come out ahead after your 6th drink plus a couple of bottled waters. You're right. I kind of miss spoke there. The way they write that terminology it gets in your brain that it's 15, even though I know better lol. But even with coffees and mocktails and the like, I think I would put too much pressure on myself to feel like I was getting my money's worth. RocHed11 Posted July 14, 2018 Author #54 Share Posted July 14, 2018 Thank you for all your replies, some of you are too funny. I'm not too concerned about reaching 15 alcoholic drinks every day but am way more excited to drink coffees that are 10 grades above the local tire store waiting room coffee that I've had before on some previous cruises I've been on . reedprincess Posted July 14, 2018 #55 Share Posted July 14, 2018 I'm sure that this has been asked before but is there a list of spirits and wines that are at $12 or less? Asking for a friend.:halo: Current menus off Royal.. Prices are the same across the fleet. (Ships based in Australia ate in AUS pricing, no gratuity added on). https://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=2626819

Agree, actually you could delete the '2-3 cocktails for shows ' and it is still worth it in my book.
daydreamer16 Posted July 14, 2018 #57 Share Posted July 14, 2018 I do not have a list but all of my favorites were included (under $12.00). They are Grey Goose, Absolut, Titos, Makers Mark, Buffalo Trace, John Jacob Rye, Dalwhinnie 15 y/o as for wine only 2 by glass at Vines are over $12.00. My favorite was the Silverardo Cabernet which was at $12.00 and included. This was based on my last cruise in May 2018. Hope this helps. Thanks, I like Grey Goose, especially the flavored! TheRabbit Posted July 14, 2018 #59 Share Posted July 14, 2018 Thanks for that list, my husband is going to have to deal with the Glenlivet 12 year instead of his preferred 18! On my last cruise, brother-in-law and I went for a "tasting" each night (usually about 4) and found we could do a couple of days without duping a scotch/whiskey/? at the $12 limit. Glenlivet 12 was in the mix a few times. Finished off each tasting with a Port, only because we could! LOL
