DirtDiver Posted July 21, 2018 #1 Share Posted July 21, 2018 Trying to decide between these two itineraries on November 18: Allure sailing to: St. Maarten, Puerto Rico, Haiti Harmony sailing to: Haiti, Fallmouth, Cozumel My dilemma is this: I've been on the Allure (and loved it) back in 2017, however I've never been to any of the ports it's going to, and have always wanted to go to St. Maarten. On the other hand, I haven't sailed on the Harmony, and it's newer, but I've been to Cozumel (which I like) and went to Ocho Rios (which I very much disliked). To add to the decision making, I'm taking my parents who have never been on a cruise, so I figure the Harmony would wow them the best. What would you do? The prices are similar with the AOTS being about 10% less expensive, so not really a factor.
LSUfan4444 Posted July 21, 2018 #2 Share Posted July 21, 2018 I sail the itinerary, cruise departure port, price and whether or not the ship has a cabin in a location I want, not the specific ship. I mean, if it's a family trip and I'm comparing Vision and Allure on a trip with my 8 year old the ship will play a part but when comparing cruises on similar classes the specific ship doesnt make a difference. Don't know if you're flying or driving but the logistical differences between miami and ft lauderdale could likely play a part as well.
Biker19 Posted July 21, 2018 #3 Share Posted July 21, 2018 Allure.
Clarea Posted July 21, 2018 #4 Share Posted July 21, 2018 I'd also take the Allure for the itinerary.
TeeRick Posted July 21, 2018 #5 Share Posted July 21, 2018 On a Thanksgiving cruise be prepared for thousands of kids on either of these ships.
Beachammo Posted July 21, 2018 #6 Share Posted July 21, 2018 Allure (itienary) Not much difference between the 2 ships....the parents will be wowed by either. Allure is probably cheaper too Sent from my VS995 using Tapatalk
matj2000 Posted July 21, 2018 #7 Share Posted July 21, 2018 Go to St.Thomas/St.Maartin on the Allure. Who cares that a ship is a few years newer and has some additions? Besides that, they are identical.
matj2000 Posted July 21, 2018 #8 Share Posted July 21, 2018 On a Thanksgiving cruise be prepared for thousands of kids on either of these ships. I have been on a cruise for the last 9 Thanksgivings. Kids on the ship is a Non-issue. Not nearly as bad as Summer. Unless you are old and crabby...
DirtDiver Posted July 21, 2018 Author #9 Share Posted July 21, 2018 Thanks for the replies. They went in the direction I thought they would. I've heard St. Maarten is an amazing port.

Unless you are old and crabby... I did not say I had an issue with it but some might. We have gone on several TGiving cruises on large RCCL ships. There are a lot of kids. Just pointing that out to the OP. I am not old and crabby but as I get older I do get crabbier!
