coevan Posted July 21, 2018 #2 Share Posted July 21, 2018 Carnival has a soda package, what is cups with chips?
Deenkid Posted July 21, 2018 #3 Share Posted July 21, 2018 I was wondering the same thing. We just got off an RCI cruise and they had the Freestyle Coke Machines, which are a lot better and faster than having to get a soda from a waiter. Haven't cruised Carnival in a long time, so I'm not familiar with their beverage packages.
Drose716 Posted July 21, 2018 #4 Share Posted July 21, 2018 There is a soda package, but there's no self-serve machines. You go to any bar & they'll pour from a can into a bar cup. You'll get a new cup for each drink. https://help.carnival.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/3836/~/bottomless-bubbles-%28unlimited-soda-program%
n6uqqq Posted July 21, 2018 #5 Share Posted July 21, 2018 Carnival takes a warm can of soda and pours it over ice which yields a flat, watered down drink. It's really bad when you get it from an outdoor venue and the can temp is around 90 degrees :loudcry: Also, with the bottomless bubbles you don't get an entire can, so often you get a can that has already been opened and is sitting there. Purvis1231 Posted July 21, 2018 #6 Share Posted July 21, 2018 On my recent trip on the Carnival Dream, I purchased the Bubbles program. I was always served the entire can, and a few times the cans were chilled.
woods79 Posted July 21, 2018 #7 Share Posted July 21, 2018 Do all guests in the cabin have to purchase the Bubbles package? Hubby and I are not big soda drinkers so just want it for 13 year old son. NCL and RCI let us purchase one package for the cabin, not sure about Carnival. Sent from my iPhone using Forums
yogibear Posted July 21, 2018 #8 Share Posted July 21, 2018 NO, not everyone has to buy the package. Just ordered it for DH and I but not MIL. Karen
aggieamy55 Posted July 21, 2018 #9 Share Posted July 21, 2018 That's crazy it's all from cans! Is there anywhere on Carnival (specifically the Horizon) where you can get soda in a fountain drink form with the soda package? I MUCH prefer fountain drink Diet Coke to it from a can. We are more familiar with Royal Caribbean and there are numerous venues on their ships where it's a fountain drink. (Our last ship didn't have the Coke Freestyle machines on RCCL, but the bars had it in fountain form.) I guess when someone orders something like a rum and Coke on Carnival, the Coke comes from a can? That's so weird to me...
Purvis1231 Posted July 21, 2018 #10 Share Posted July 21, 2018 My guess is the soda fountains require too much maintenance and supplies.

Deenkid Posted July 22, 2018 #13 Share Posted July 22, 2018 Thanks for the replies. It is disappointing to find out you get a can, or half can. I too have experienced warm coke over ice, not to mention it is not a lot to drink, which necessitates ordering often.

nwo4life Posted July 22, 2018 #15 Share Posted July 22, 2018 On the last two ships we sailed, Fantasy '17 the glasses were large large enough to hold an entire can and Dream '18 they filled the glass and gave us the remainder in the can with Bubbles.
