Our second X cruise comments. Mostly "wow"

We are Pinnacle on RCI and will be doing mostly X in the future. Silhoutee blew our socks off last Dec. Now just off a back to back on Equinox and several more Celebrity cruises are now booked. Celebrity still allows you to book a "place holder cruise" that is completely flexible and totally refundable. Only a $100 pp deposit as you don't really know what length cruise you will be taking. RCI quit doing this about 3 years ago. We arrived at the POM about 10:20 AM and were on board at 10:35. The OVC opened about 10:55 to handle all the early arrivals. Service was outstanding everywhere both weeks. Our turn around day took about an hour. We just walked past a border protection officer holding up our pass ports. I was so impressed with the entertainment as I didn't expect much except for the ubiquitous live music in various venues. But the first week,a Motown type group called Uptown was so entertaining and high energy. The second week there was a ventriloquist, comedian whose show was a lot of fun. Another show last week, on the last night, was a Beatles tribute called "All McCartney". Fun and nostalgic. Of course the demographic was different from our December cruise. But still not enough children to be a problem tho' the younger adult crowd did impact the solarium and pools more then the winter cruisers. We thought the food in the OVC for breakfast and lunch was outstanding. Dinner there was not as good as it was on Silhoutte. Ate in both Murano and Tuscan Grill and both were quite good. At Tuscan my side dish of lobster alfredo had a ton of lobster, Disappointingly, the risotto was not nearly as good as the risotto at Giovanni's Table on RCI. Waiters all over the ship knew me by name by the second week. I hope to be down to my usual weight before our next X cruise in Sept.!

Thanks for the info. We are in a similar position, just short of P on RCCL but fed up with the direction they are moving. We have our first X cruise in December then another in January Have 4 more booked and if all goes well will make the switch.

Thank you for your review. We are Diamond plus on RCL and well on our way to Pinnacle. Other than when we are traveling with extended family who like the extra activities on the larger Royal ships we have switched almost exclusively to Celebrity.

I find it interesting that as a Pinnacle you have also made the switch. It does not appear that Zeniths on Celebrity have quite as many benefits as Pinnacles do on RCL.

Thank you for sharing this. We’re D on Royal and still have a ways to go to get even to D+, never mind P! Taking our first X cruise in December. We decided now was the time to try different ships. Have an Anthem cruise booked in the Spring, and still want to sail on Symphony. Maybe we’ll make it to D+ after all. [emoji6]
