Brooklyn59 Posted July 23, 2018 #1 Share Posted July 23, 2018 We are booked on the Escape / Bermuda cruise from NYC. We always check in as Casino at Sea guests but we are also Platinum Plus Latitudes level. Is there a benefit to check in at the Latitudes Priority desk? I appreciate your input.... Brooklyn59 Posted July 23, 2018 Author #3 Share Posted July 23, 2018 Pick the shortest line. Good point!!! Sometimes you can’t see the priority area but I agree that the shortest line is the way to go. Thanks
clcjdn Posted July 23, 2018 #4 Share Posted July 23, 2018 Last month we went out of NYC. Ended up in Platinum line and got Boarding Group 1 and a special area to hang out. Looked like Haven and ADA went before us only. Didn’t see a move on the CAS group. Sent from my iPhone using Forums
Rare BirdTravels Posted July 23, 2018 #5 Share Posted July 23, 2018 Casino guests will board before Group 1. They are suppose to board before platinum.

I remember receiving the Group 1 card when we checked in with CAS. I will double-check at the port. Thanks for your response and guidance - appreciate your help! agargoyle Posted July 24, 2018 #7 Share Posted July 24, 2018 When we do NCL in NYC, we always enter the cruise terminal and turn left for the platinum lines. On the big ships it does make a real difference.
hladygirl Posted July 24, 2018 #8 Share Posted July 24, 2018 The last two times we boarded in Boston there were no preference to CAS people. Only platinum and above. We were one of the first to board. We were both platinum and CAS.
DaCruiseBug Posted July 24, 2018 #9 Share Posted July 24, 2018 If you board in Miami and are on a CAS sailing do they just give you a group 1 pass or is there nothing in Miami?

We have had some experiences where they were BOTH in the same line! So I would just go to the Priority lines and see which one looks the shortest. No priority boarding in Miami for CAS. Just check in. I agree with everyone else. We're platinum plus and CAS. We just go to the shortest check-in line. Rare mking8288 Posted July 24, 2018 #13 Share Posted July 24, 2018 We usually arrived between 10 to 10:30 to check in and find the wait for Platinum to be shorter for check in, plus #1 card for boarding ... following Special Needs seated across from our roped off section. Our friends that are CAS get #3 & higher, they followed us shortly and waited in a bigger area on the opposite side. Apparently on the Gem, they had like 15% or more CAS booking. This has been true on at least all 4 NY sailings in the last 2 years, it used to be CAS first. Things could change, YMMV. When turnaround was on schedule, we got on deck by 11:15 and we're in the MDR by 11:30 away from the herd. I've heard that NCL does whatever it takes to get you in front of the slot machines as fast as humanly possible. plus the casino line would most likely be shorter de to the fact of less gamblers with a high status.. good luck!! Zlasmcruising Posted July 24, 2018 #15 Share Posted July 24, 2018 We were on the Escape out of New York in May. Platinums had roped off area and cards were number 1. Sent from my SM-N950U using Forums mobile app

You can get gamblers in front of machines, but the casino does not open for about 7-8 hours after embarkation. Gamblers don't necessarily have high status, many casino guests are onboard because they got a free cruise certificate from their local land-based casino.
