How many reservations do you have?

Recommended Posts

that's great!

we took the tour way back in the 90's (for OKW) and would have purchased except the DVC guide (salesperson) gave us the wrong answer to a key question.

we told him since we live overseas we might not be able to visit every year so is there a way to use points for that.

he said no - He failed to tell us about banking and borrowing. So annoying. And in the end, there were many years we did visit every year. But what's done is done. Can't go back

As it happens, i'm currently trying to purchase DVC. I had an offer in on an SSR contract, but i just got the dreaded call yesterday - Disney exercised ROFR - boo!!

so i put in another offer last night on two other contracts (i upped my offer to what it seems like disney will let pass). Please keep your fingers crossed for us!!!!!

by the way, were you on the DVC cruise last week? my very best friend in the whole wide world was on it - she said it was spectacular!!

of course, for us to be able to go on one of the DVC member cruises, i'll have to buy a direct contract from disney, which i'll do once i have the resale ones.

.

sorry for going off topic -but what can i do, my favorite topic is disney (my name on CC is a bit deceptive, but that's not my disboard name - obviously)...

and again - sorry for going off topic...

(yn)(yn)for you! Yes buying direct will give you more perks. For us, buying way back when we did, the free park passes we got till the end of 1999 went a long way towards recouping our investment cost :D

I've never done a DVC member cruise, I hear they're fabulous, but more than we want to spend. DH isn't as big a Disney fanatic as I am, so the 3-4 day local cruises are about all he can handle. We do get cool gifts/DVC perks on our Disney cruises, in addition to our Castaway Gold perks, tho as with everything they have dwindled over the years.

Apologies to all for continuing the off topic discussion!

I have 10 booked from now till February 2020. I like to have lots of cruises to look forward to.

I have not seen anyone in a long time that was on the Serenade at the same time we were in Oct 2007. That awesome Ohana thread is gone... or at least I cannot find it.

Remember you have to buy at least 75 points direct to become a blue card member to be eligible to go on dvc member cruise.

yes i know...we just missed the boat on that one too when they raised the minimum from 25 to 75.

but i didn't know my kids were interested in DVC until about 2 weeks later (in march - i think the change was in february).

I know what happened - i was diagnosed with a rather nasty form of cancer, so the kids took this up as a distraction tactic....that's what i assume anyway..

it's fine...i'm happy to do it...once we succeed on these contracts, we'll buy the 75 points from disney (at their insanely high rates) and then we'll HAVE to go to disney...right? perfect logic...

and yes, another apology for going off topic....

since this is the royal board, i'll say that DD and DSIL just got off the symphony of the seas in rome, after their 7 night med cruise.

I spent an hour on the phone with her this morning (from her hotel day room in rome), she said the cruise was spectacular!!

and that means the ship, since they didn't get off in any of the ports....the ship was her destination and it was fabulous...she raved about everything and especially all of the crew - the cruise director and his staff, the entertainment, the regular royal staff (room steward, bar staff, wait staff, etc)..

they enjoyed every second of the cruise...

so there....sort of on topic...at least talking about royal ;)

DH isn't a disney fanatic at all, he just enjoys being with me and the kids and grandkids wherever we are....and WE prefer disney over all else (even with all of its many faults - we don't see the world through pixie dust colored glasses)..

but we like royal too...actually, DS, DDIL and the grandkids have never been on royal.......we'll work up to that..

next summer is a disney magic cruise....if that works out, we'll try royal in the med - a lot cheaper than disney to be sure!!!!

and speaking of kids on royal ships, and speaking of symphony of the seas, DD said that on this coming sunday, when symphony gets to barcelona there will be 2,000 children boarding the ship.. :o

she's very happy she cruised this week and not next

4 in the next 6 months...

Alaska on Explorer in Aug

Transatlantic on Jewel in Nov

Caribbean on Adventure in Jan

Panama Canal on Jewel in Feb.

I play cards so I have to wait for more on board offers from Casino Royale to book more trips.

I typically only have one cruise planned at a time, and then book another one. Once, I think I had two. I currently have four. I recently had several friends ask me to join them, and I couldn't say no. :)

3 on RCI and 3 on Celebrity :)

I have 7 at the moment...8 if you include the 4 day Nile cruise as part of a land tour.

2 on Royal (both Mariner)

4 on Carnival

1 on MSC (Europe)

1 on Jude Dehabeya (River Cruise)

Probably my last hurrah as the second kiddo is headed for college!
