New Jersey Pat Posted July 30, 2018 #1 Share Posted July 30, 2018 We are traveling aboard the Regal Princess this month and would like to purchase wine to bring on board. Having visited ports in Spain and Italy on previous trips, we were able to purchase some good wines ashore at great prices. We realize that the costs will be higher in the countries we are visiting.Any suggestions (particularly Copenhagen) will be greatly appreciated. Desdichado62 Posted July 30, 2018 #2 Share Posted July 30, 2018 Don't bother with buying wine in Sweden, it's not real wine but just very basic wine brought here in metallic barrels and then mixed with taste essences. However if you still want to buy wine of stronger alcohol see this website: https://www.omsystembolaget.se/english/ The English language version is really bad though with hardly any info and no store or product info. DipBrat Posted August 1, 2018 #3 Share Posted August 1, 2018 I assume you start in Copenhagen so would prefer to buy there for convenience but keep in mind Germany, Latvia, Estonia will all have much better prices than the Nordic ports.
hallasm Posted August 1, 2018 #4 Share Posted August 1, 2018 Plenty of possibilities in Copenhagen. Let us know at which hotel you’re staying and we can provide some links to good wine stores or super markets where you can purchase wine. This is not actually completely true, thats only apply to the cheaper wine selection in Systembolaget(who is the only shop permitted to sell wine in Sweden). However if you are to buy some good quality wine Sweden is a great country to to the purchase in, Systembolaget has a great selection and the prices for good quality wine are often cheaper here then in many other western european countries. This may happen in some cases but cheap but drinkable wines like Kendall Jackson or Conch Y Toro must be available widely in Sweden and are the same product as elsewhere?
