Haribofan Posted July 30, 2018 #1 Share Posted July 30, 2018 Anyone know of an easy way to get to the lovely waterfall about 1/2 mile out of town as we are taking my 80 year old mother in a few weeks and it is a very steep climb ? hallasm Posted July 30, 2018 #2 Share Posted July 30, 2018 If it is the Seven Sisters you can see it from the Cruise Ship when entering and leaving JII3U8eJbCQ
rittsail Posted July 30, 2018 #3 Share Posted July 30, 2018 She can easily see a pretty waterfall right there in town. I know she can’t do the steps, but it is still pretty to see. If it’s Seven Sisters, she can see that from the ship and it’s very pretty! Sent from my iPad using Forums
Ine Posted July 31, 2018 #4 Share Posted July 31, 2018 Check this (small) bus tour. It brings you to 3 awesome viewpoints and at the last one -eaglesbend - you will be close to the seven sisters waterfall.https://www.geirangerfjord.no/panorama-exclusive-bus

We had a 2 year old and 6 year old, and were absolutely fine at all the sights. It'll be a nice visit for your mom. Also, if you are stopping at Olden the Loen skylift is completely wheelchair accessible.
Rare Coral Posted August 1, 2018 #6 Share Posted August 1, 2018 I think there is a different waterfall. I spoke to several who hiked to a waterfall and it wasn't Seven Sisters.
Rare Coral Posted August 1, 2018 #7 Share Posted August 1, 2018 I wonder if it is Storfossen: http://www.europeanwaterfalls.com/waterfalls/storfossen-geiranger/ https://www.fjordnorway.com/things-to-do/waterfall-walk-in-geiranger-p1832833 I didn't go here as I was on an all day excursion but I know several who did walk there. I believe it is the Storfossen. Easy walk from the ship to the bottom of the stairs. 327 steps to the top or you can skip the steps and walk up the road to the hotel at the top of the falls. Beautiful view of the fjord below from the top.
Cornishpastyman1 Posted August 16, 2018 #9 Share Posted August 16, 2018 (edited) This is that easy waterfall walk, albeit with quite a few steps about 300m from the dock, shown in the second half of this. Maybe your mum could at least have a look at the last bit ? All the best, Tony 5j3DrbtnsZc Edited August 16, 2018 by Cornishpastyman1
alcpa1 Posted August 17, 2018 #10 Share Posted August 17, 2018 As you depart try to find a spot near the aft of the ship and catch a number of waterfalls as you sail out. The Seven Sisters is just one of many. It might be a little windy on the bow that's why I suggest the aft. And I thought the views were better too. Tried every angle I could. Enjoy!!!
