Using a video baby monitor in 2 BR suite?

Recommended Posts

I tried to find info on this but perhaps my question is too specific.

We are sailing in a 2BR GS and have a 6 year old and a 1 year old. We are planning to sleep in the main bedroom and have the kids in the other bedroom. The living room area is essentially inbetween the two bedrooms.

I was wondering if anyone had experience in this specific type of cabin and using a baby monitor? Does it work? We have visions of sitting on our balcony when kids go to bed and also monitoring them from our bedroom to theirs. Will the signal reach through the walls?

Thanks!

It may work over that short a distance, but it would be benefited by leaving the intervening doors (or at least one door) open. If it's a video monitor, the video may degrade due to the steel, but audio should be okay.

RCCL lists baby monitors in the list of prohibited items. I don’t know when your cruise is but I’d hate for it to be confiscated as they are not cheap.  You could try a monitor app like ANNIE that connects via WiFi thru your phone and tablet.
