Cancelling UBP

Does NCL allow anyone to cancel the UBP without getting penalized?

I am not sure what you mean by penalized? I know that you can change our the perks on your booking up to at least final payment. I am not sure if you could get a refund for the service charges associated with UBP after final payment.

You can switch to another offer (specialty dining, excursion credit, internet) before your cruise begins.

Its a fair question. My NCL PCC said any "free" deal or offer can be removed prior to final payment. There would be no "penalty" for doing so. You would get the money (gratuities) removed and your total balance will go down. I have thought about it but keeping it for now. You don't have to take any of the "free" offers.

If you change from a "free" perk that has associated gratuities after final payment but before sailing, will they refund your credit card for the unused gratuities, or give it to you as OBC?

Just curious, why do you want to cancel the UBP? Just to get the pre-paid gratuities refunded? The last cruise we went on was the first time we chose the UBP and it was definitely very much worth it.
