Travel iron

Both are prohibited items. If you have them in your luggage, your bags will be confiscated and taken to the naughty room. You end up spending [a long time] in security getting your luggage, less the contraband, back on the first night of your cruise.

Irons are fire hazards. You can request one from your room steward. They will bring you one and collect it after a short time. Be ready to iron all of your items quickly.

Sailing on 9/2 ~ Escape to Bermuda ~ can I take a portable travel iron with me? If not, can I take a steamer? TIA.

I take a little steamer and it has always gone through the screening process. It does not get hot on the outside.

I have brought steamers and travel irons. 50% of the time they catch the iron and take it out of the suitcase and leave a note in its place telling me to pick it up on the last day. I noticed the times I booked the Haven they left my iron alone. Not sure if that's coincidence or not.

Steamers I will never ever bring again. The steamer created so much steam it set off the smoke alarm which was not a good experience.

If you try to bring an iron, just be smart about it and don't leave it plugged in. Common sense.

I stopped bringing irons because when I learned about Downy wrinkle release and tested it out, it really worked quite well.. and less hassle plus much safer for everyone on board.

I didn’t break any rules when I sailed. No mention of a steam machine NOT allowed.

actually it is mentioned in the FAQ section (see post #10)...... granted it's not listed in a logical "prohibited items" section but it is mentioned.
